Thornz GDA is basically stillborn. Top players are all committing to ECNL, no surprise there. Thornz will have the same B teamers and pine riders they had this year. Fortunately for them, except for Xfire Premier, the competition will be worse than OYSA Premier.

Top clubs across the country are all staying ECNL. GDA will be B team.

They won't move? I wouldn't be so sure of that now that the ECNL has institued "minimum fees." THe ECNL is now charging players $10,000 per year. This money goes directly to the league and not the club. In addition to that amount, clubs will now be charging between $2500 and $5000. Add travel expenses, uniforms, etc, on top of that and it will now cost $20,000+ per year to play in the ECNL.

Explains why Crossfire is giving away ECNL kits. Going out of business liquidation?

This might be true but the ECNL teams are also putting huge numbers of girls into good colleges. Thorns haven't.

GDA is brand new this year. It will replace ECNL as the top pathway to D1 college placements within the next 24 months. ECNL will still be showcasing the second tier and multi-sport athletes which is great.
