No money in their personal pockets. Wink, wink.

Reminds me of a former ECNL BOD member/DOC here.

Sting made a very thoughtful decision based on what is best for the vast majority of its players. Only a rare few girls want only soccer in their lives and to try to go pro. The majority of girls want more balance and to get to college. Ecnl won out due to plying time, soccer options, learning various playing styles, playing other sports, other activities, academics, social & family life, etc.

Sounds like the Medina family is a lot more intelligent than the Lyslo family.

Always good to have options for all players -Club, GDA, ECNL.

          Expenses and interests...nothing more.

Just glad to see the growth of opportunities for our girls.

            Yep. If you mean $

Money in hand, money in hand.
Sting is a for-profit entity and ECNL is a for-profit entity.

I wonder what the Medina couple pay themselves and what ECNL pays Kenny.
Gotta be a helluva lot more than Lyslo earnings.

No matter what, Sting is a great model for girls' soccer everywhere. Before USCS and ECNL, my DD's team often played in some tournaments attended by Sting teams. Of course there weren't Sting teams all over the place like there is now, but they were fun to watch.

On a side note, glad to see Sting prevail in a suit against JPMorgan Chase.

Sting Soccer Group LP et al. v. JPMorgan Chase Bank NA, case number 4:15-cv-00127, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

Options available for girls (G) DA or a club.

              That's it, nothing more.

League choices for a club are limitless in the current landscape, the DA is not a choice, it's a US Soccer distinction based with high standards and curriculum requirements. Basically invite only. All the other leagues will let you in if your membership can afford it.

Aside from playing crappy HS soccer the ECNL girls have given up every other sport. We know give this year that had to give up track and basketball.

Well put. Or GPS is going to get you a try out for Bayern Munich!!!
Stop comparing OR soccer to any other. We are unique. We are a poorly ran soccer state from the top down. A broken system with OYSA and absolute morons running our soccer clubs. The only comparisons you can make with OR soccer is the franchise company soccer shots!

And I know ECNL players who are running track right now and played basketball. A lot of times it depends on the high school coach's willingness to be flexible. What's your point?

Did you just GDA and high standards in the same sentence. Please read their standards for entry and tell me how the Thorns were allowed entry other than the obvious "Thorns"

Just look at the clubs that were invited to join GDA - it's clear there were NO standards!

Yes, very low standards with clubs like Slammers, SD Surf, WestCoast, Real South Cal, Blues, Texans, FC Dallas, PDA.

Lets just start with the local division:

                              1. Burlingame Soccer Club (Cal-N).....lol
                              2. California Storm (Cal-N).....lol
                              3. California Thorns FC (Cal-N)....lol
                              4. Crossfire Premier (WA)......great
                              5. La Roca Futbol Club (UT).....lol
                              6. Lamorinda Soccer Club (Cal-N).....lol
                              7. Portland Thorns FC (OR)....lbad
                              8. PSV Union Football Club (Cal-N)....lol
                              9. San Jose Earthquakes (Cal-N)....lol
                              10. Seattle Reign (WA)......good

2 good or better existing team, 1 bad team, 4 teams that dont have more than 2 teams in their whole club and 3 start up clubs with no teams.

Maybe the Portland Thorns do have a chance in finishing in the top half.

Seattle Reign is good depending on the age group and it will be a good one to use For ECNL vs Thorns comparisons, as would Crossfire Premier if they don't have teams in ECNL anymore.
