Just saying if you are going to price ECNL to include parent travel then you should do the same when making the comparison with DA.

Is the team going to fly to Boise and N. California or team bus?

Fly. Parent attendance not included. It's only $2k per player which includes everything except food..so many families will be able to make games. At that rate you could be $5k all-in and that would include parent travel to 10+ games.

Everyone needs to relax and just do what is best for them. ECNL is a good option for some and Thorns DA is good for others. Way too much negativity in OR Youth soccer recently.

Wow. That is a great write up. I love that there are still smart people out there.

Sadly in our neck of the woods no local club had that chance to turn it down based on their quality and record of achievement.

            Not relevant to Oregonians.

Same reasoning means GDA has no relevance to Oregonians either. The national team spots & the top college spots are all still going to Texas, CA, etc. We still have the exact same player & coach pool as before. Zero change but the uniform. End results for all our girls will be exactly the same. Some just won't get to play HS or any other soccer & academics will suffer under GDA.

The best assessment by a club that puts piles of kids into elite schools every year.

So much for the Cali Thorns team getting off to a great start. They will be lucky to field a team that will even be able to compete vs the Oregon Thorns. The Quakes will take the good ones first.

                    Full circle on your logic

Oregon clubs are irrelevant in the ECNL.

                    Thank You.

That's been the point for two years of this lunacy money pit.

What's wrong with having Peregrine pay for it vs. Me.

                    Call me crazy....like a fox.

They did get off to a great start?

Many good points to ponder. Consider what is truly best for your daughters.

Best part was the DeAnza press release that disavowed any connection with the Thorns. Belly laugh material. They are one of the best girls clubs in the country and were forceful they were in no way related to them.

What makes this so poignant for Oregon is how horrible the local clubs playing in the ECNL from our neighborhood clubs actually are and incredibly this makes the Portland Thorns GDA look so attractive to those families who have burned their own monies for 2 years and now have the chance to burn Peregrine's coffers.

                            Different markets, different outcomes.

Peregrine isn't paying for it. All OYSA players and teams are funding it when they pay league fees.

Basically TA clubs are funding GDA.

DeAnza is a well funded, smart club that has consistently produced fleets of great girls soccer players. Smart for them to back away.
