It will be nice to get a done deal early.
Onyx had 21 players sign NLIs and only 3 signed before their sophomore year was over and one in the summertime between sophomore and junior, but all others were junior year and early senior year which is the norm

That's what I had heard before and bears out by past signings but many posters came on here and said the majority of sophomores have already verballed & have verballed to D1. Told the OP that there are no spots left by junior/senior year even at lower schools but definitely at D1. If that's true for Onyx, then I think they are wrong.

Just to clarify. No one signed until 2/1 of this year, but offers were made and both parties agreed, signed was a poor choice of words

In general (and it may be somewhat later here) nationally by junior year for Top D1 is pretty much too late, especially if you're hoping for any $. Soph/junior year more the norm for lower level D1 and certainly D3. By senior year it's whatever is left - very low level programs, no money or maybe a spot that opened up unexpectedly. No one is officially committed to D1 until an NLI is signed - it's all verbal until then and both sides can back away (although that doesn't happen often). There is no NLI for D3 (it's all verbal), there is no athletic money for D3 and coaches have very little pull in getting a slightly under qualified student past the admissions process.

Oregon typically gets less than a handful of girls in good D1. The rest commit junior & senior year to various lower level schools. Oregon isn't even anywhere near the same ballpark as CA.

I don't think anyone is saying that we are. The recruiting timeline is the same however because the schools doing the recruiting dictate the timeline.

An earlier poster told the OP that waiting till Junior year is too late, even for community college.

It's not entirely too late but definitely well behind the 8 ball. One problem is the process takes time. Coaches usually want to see players a few times at showcases and/or Id events, then there's visits to schedule (and worked around school days, vacation days) etc.

Recruiters show up at high school games too-even had one from HI watching my son. He/we didn't even know until after OSAA season was over and his coach told him. The HI coach contacted my son later in the year. Said he saw him at Surf Cup w/his WT team and also saw several of his HS games.

And how many had their offers pulled?

Of those 21 that signed NLIs - none. It is a binding contract once you sign

Wrong. If you want Pac 12 or other P5 conferences, they are full by end of sophomore year by and large. Very few of those schools aren't done by end of sophomore year (or mid summer at the latest). Only when there is an exceptional player will those schools still look during junior year. And by then, the money is gone. Other D1 do recruit through junior year but with each month, there are fewer and fewer spots. And remember, when Oregon and Washington players are playing in HS in the fall, the California girls are going to showcases and are getting offers. So junior year gets to be a numbers game for the Oregon girls. Oh sure, Portland State type schools still have spots late junior year, but even PSU will have over half of their class by December of junior year. Lower division schools still recruit into senior year, but some of them have fairly full classes by end of junior year.

I said offers. And there were some who had their offers pulled. But that's what happens when you misbehave.

                              Wrong, class was 12. https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/sear...ea=commitments
But hey, who would think an Onyx parent would be honest?

Yes, four of them to Portland State in a recruiting class that had 14. That's right, 14. Pretty exclusive.

And there was what, one, that signed with Oregon who is going to be sitting with a roster of 32, and that's before walk ons, of which I understand that there is at least one former local girl who is walking on there. A roster of 33 (at least). Good luck with that.

Man you have an ax to grind. Sorry your daughter ended up at community college, but if you really want to know who signed NLI
