It makes send if you make the top two age groups in DA since it is fully funded. Crossfire was already subsidizing their ECNL teams a couple of thousand dollars per player. Not sure if this will change if funds are going to the DA side. Rumor has it that they will subsidize the ECNL even more next year. We will see shortly.

What is going to happen to the Reign Players that dont make or choose to participate in the combined age groups? Where do they land? At least at Crossfire you have a choice. Two great choices at that.

Great point. Perhaps the current crop of US players weren't the best, just the ones that made it through the financial crisis of 08-09. As a matter of fact, it might not be a coincidence that ECNL was founded in 2009. Too many parents were foreclosing on their homes by taking out bad loans to afford playing. Is it possible that ECNL caused the mortgage industry to collapse?
