I think it's pretty hilarious that The ADF parent is trying to make the case that ADF training made the two current BSC players who they are today. Crazy talk.
Those players have been good for a long time AND have played for a variety of clubs a lot longer than the cup of coffee they had at ADF.

I also think it amusing that the ADF parents indicate that they will lose additional players to the Timbers Academy, but refuse to admit that their players are also looking at other DA clubs.

Certainly wish them all the luck in the Supercopa. They might need to borrow those PCU players again...although they might have to look for them at Eastside!

Oh calm down Bridlemile School Club! Those two players played at other clubs but they have trained in ADF academy for over three years. You know so little!

Is it that much better than staying at their Little DA club with the opportunity for more playing time?
Next season the DA has a rule in place where everyone gets equal playing time. Add the for profit clubs will roster 20 players. Head scratcher!

So a little DA with 20 kids and equal playing time. So each kid plays about 25 minutes a weekend?

So much for earning play time..this is a great model for weaker less driven players.

The big DA would never do abide by those rules.

The u13/14 group will be 11v11.
What is the mandated number of weekly practices for thisage group?

4x week from June through Early September. Will make for a long summer, espescially for the younger 05s.

So much bad information on this site.

Summer months are not governed by US Soccer. Any training over the summer is club preference and often optional, unless they are preparing for a special tournament.

DA season is August through May. 4x week training during majority of that time for U13/14.

This could be good and manageable for the for older and mature 04s going into 8th grade but could be trying or even a recipe for burn out for younger 05s that will just be going into 6th grade. Also all of the best 04s are going to the Academy team.

You might be right that 20 '04 players will end up at the Timbers Academy, but those players will be coming from the seven DA clubs and ADF and PCU.

The Oregon DA pool will remain strong as teams that lose players to TA will be able to replace them with either strong '05 players, or players from PCU and ADF. The ship has sailed for the OYSA competition for 2004. Westside Copa is moving to DA, and the other two strong OYSA teams already have players looking at their DA options for next season, which is right around the corner.
