Another loss for Oregon today at Utah. O-5 in conference. What was that talk about how Oregon was now going to face teams that were beatable? I'm sure Oregon is looking at the other teams who have yet to win in conference like Washington and WSU and OSU as conference wins, but that's exactly how those teams are looking at Oregon.

Since you are so intent on being "right" about Oregon's head coach, why don't you share your name here so we all know to thank you when and if the time comes that Mertz is let go?

For me, I watched the game and I thought Oregon played a very tough match. They wore down at the end which isn't surprising with the elevation. Utah has a great team and made one play but I think they would be the first to say that Oregon was no pushover. They are a greatly improved team from last year.

And my final thought regarding Oregon is that they have FAR more pressing matters to worry about with that dumpster fire across the parking lot in Autzen. My guess is Mertz could go 0 for the rest of the season and they wouldn't even notice.

It must be Mertz's fault. It surely can't be the abundance of home grown talent on that team.

Here is why I keep calling you out. Let's say it is 100% true, it doesn't matter. What serves you to come on here and disparage a local young lady. Let it go buddy, you are gonna be O-kay!

And I never said the class was better, I am simply disturbed by your childish behavior. The fact that you cannot realize how ridiculous you are being, doesn't just makes you childish, but kind of dumb.

Well, her contract expires at the end of the season. So if they don't notice, then I guess she, and you, know what her fate is. I'm sure Oregon wouldn't mind her coaching next year without pay. But I doubt she will do that. And my name is about any one of thousands of people who are paying attention. And you are an idiot if you think that playing the game tough is enough to win the sway of at the AD. Moral victories don't win new contracts. And Utah isn't a great team. Sheesh, how stupid are you? They are slightly above average in the Pac 12 which puts them above average nationally in P5 teams.

What is disturbing is the folks on here who think that the 2018 and 2019 Oregon classes are something to behold. The fact that the 2018 class is held as something great, based upon a class that has so many Pac 12 recruits, but which has been shown to not be so great because at least one is due to a AD favor, is what is the point. Take out the favoritism when comparing classes. That's all. Good, great, she got a Cal offer. Save me the "she's a part of the greatest Pac 12 class that came from Oregon ever" speech. Compare apples to apples, that's all. Favors and friendships don't count dad. Although, being former frat bother and drinking buddy with the current Cal AD is pretty cool. Probably scores you some sideline passes to Cal football games. Not bad.

Mertz's team is improving and they are doing much better than last year. She also takes some local talent. She's doing well with what recruits she can get to come to the Ducks. Guarantee you she'd be having an easier time of things if she were at a school like San Jose State which has thousands more good local recruits and doesn't have to compete in the Pac12. Also don't get why any Oregonian would want to get rid of Mertz and have much less of a chance of their dd getting recruited to Oregon.

Hmmm, no speech, just stating facts and it was the 2017 and 2018 numbers combined, never said anything about 2019. And for the record, I also never said it was the best PAC12 recruiting class ever, I said that it was the most PAC12 commitments from a two year span that I have seen in a long time. Never mentioned quality. For all I know, they were ALL favors, who cares??? Simply stating what is publicly posted, number of PAC12 recruits. Interesting how that bothered you and you needed to come on what 5, 6, 7 times to "get the record straight" on that one recruit? Dude, who cares! All it gives her is an opportunity which clearly pisses you off. Have a beer and chill, I am pretty sure she is okay with whatever deal was made. You in the hand, well at some point you are going to have to let it go. And for the record, none of us care how she got her offer, good for her!

The above post I quoted the wrong post, I was responding to the CAL recruit obsessed guy above the post I quoted.

Can I ask, why are you such a pessimist about this? Why do you care how or why this girl got her offer? Why do you care enough to post repeatedly to make this point? What is your motivation? Are you not proud of where you live? Are you not proud of ANY young woman who gets a chance to continue her dream of playing soccer after high school? Why do you feel like cutting down the accomplishment of others and bad mouthing the quality of a recruiting class of young women from our local market? Please help me understand your thought process. If not, please shut the f**k up.

You post makes no sense. If she would do better a SJSU, then she should get hired at a school like that and let go by Oregon. Also, she doesn't take a lot of Oregon kids. Very few in fact. And how do you know that some successor wouldn't recruit the state more? Just take a look at the standings, Oregon and Oregon State are right down there at the bottom, the only win less teams in the league.

TBH Washington and Washington State are terrible as well. Perhaps we can get real and just call it what it is. Programs are only as good as the kids they can recruit. The talent they get in the PNW isn't as good as they get to choose from Col, UT and California. NW schools get California leftovers. Cal schools pluck best NW talent. You can blame Mertz, Linus ect all you want but a new coach doesn't change that.

If only you knew what you are talking about. Washington was in the tournament in 2015 and 2014. UW was a 4 seed in 2014 and went to the Sweet 16. WSU was in the tournament in 2014, 2013, 2012 and 2011. Just so you know they take the top 64 teams in the country out of over 300 D1 programs. Much more selective than say the men's NCAA basketball tournament. Oregon State was in 2011 and hasn't been in since. And Oregon, not in a looooooong time. So it's not the Pac NW schools, it's the Oregon schools. Washington schools are making visits to the tournament fairly regularly.

Yeah well 64 teams making the post season is like saying your daughter is in the top 30% of her graduating class. Great job. And just like UW in 2014 she made the honor roll once her sophomore year. Being the skinniest guy at a fat guy contest doesn't make you skinny.
