Crossfire, Westside, and La Amistad are the teams to beat!!! It's going to be fun to beat up on ADF this year. They lost almost all of their games this summer.
We have to watch out for Washington timbers!
they beat crossfire, tied westside, and will be beating adf

LOL, well played.
Regardless, three of the top four are Alliance teams, and the fourth has a roster full of Academy castoffs. And with ADF and OPFC challenging each other for sixth place (ADF wins the "prize" unless they lose to WashT by two or more goals, then OPCF will "win" the tiebreaker), this place has been quiet this past season.

Tick... tock... tick... tock...
Yet none of the 05 teams are much different or far superior to any other so anything can happen come state cup. Westside squeeked out several ties and one goal wins that could have gone either way, updx can’t score but has a stout defense, not sure what happened to opfc who also can’t score anymore, wash timbers are smoke and mirrors and adf is a shell of its former self.
That was the order of the finish in the standings, but these three teams together were the class of the group. Westside had an additional game, allowing them to break the logjam--but they had to win this extra game. Were it a tie or a loss, they would be behind the other two.
All three of these teams went undefeated, and the two games where teams in this group played each other, were both ties. Unfortunately, WashT and UPDX did not play each other. All three teams were excellent defensively, averaging fewer than one goal allowed per game. Assuming no major changes between now and spring, your favorites for State Cup. (Also assuming WashT plays in OYSA rather than BECNL due to the Covid-adjusted schedule).
Tier Two: Dark Horses
Capital, FC Portland.
Both were solid teams, both who lost key players to the TA rapture in recent years. FC really misses RF, who--despite all the antics--is a hell of a soccer player. CFC still has a couple player with the Timbers as well, and gave WT all they could handle before losing a short-handed game.
Tier Three: What Happened?
OPFC, ADF, Cuervos.
Last season, OPFC and ADF were the class of OYSA, and the Crows were a dangerous team who could destroy opponents, if they didn't destroy themselves first. This year, all three teams were shadows of their former selves. I'm still not sure why...
Tier Four: Playing in the wrong division
Woodburn FC.
Major props to these guys, who were competitive in quite a few matches, are really nice folks and a classy, community-focused organization, and probably would have done well in Premier Silver, but were generally overmatched in the top division.
Tier Five: Missing in action
ETFC, Bend, RVT, Salmon Creek
Since the 2020 State Cup was not held, Eugene Timbers are still your defending state champs (even with the caveat that 2019 was a DA year for the 05 class, so a lot of the top teams didn't participate in State Cup). They haven't gone anywhere, and likely decided not to participate in Fall League due to Covid, but I expect them to be a threat should they enter State Cup this year. Bend probably isn't as strong (a semifinalist in 2019), and RVT even weaker.. both clubs are in distant parts of the state have a smaller talent pool to draw from, but are a road trip that teams from the Valley probably want to avoid.
FC Salmon Creek is another team that MIGHT enter Oregon state cup--it has done so in the past, and has a history of being somewhat competitive against the top Oregon clubs in this age group.
Tier Six: B-Teams and other Premier Silver teams
While none of these should be considered a favorite to contend for State Cup, a few other squads worth mentioning. The top three teams in 05 Premier Silver are the B teams from UPDX, OPFC, and ADF. One other Silver squad of note is Oregon Valley Futbol Alliance, a new club resulting from the merger of Corvallis FC and TFA Willamette, and which probably also picked up a few former 4H players when the 4H soccer program collapsed.
Rather than having a premier gold and silver division, in winter league there is a single premier division with 12 teams.
Only four teams from fall Premier Gold are playing winter: WashT, WT, OPFC, and Woodburn.
Three teams from fall Premier Silver are in: OPFC's and WT's B teams, and OVF Alliance.
Four "traditional powers" (teams with a history of being competitive at this age group in OYSA premier) that didn't do fall league are in: ETFC, Bend, Rogue Valley, and Salmon Creek. Get ready for some long car rides.
Rounding out the dozen is LYS (Lincoln Youth Sports).
In order to be seeded into State Cup, you have to play either fall OR winter league; under modified Covid rules, either one is acceptable. Not sure how teams that only play one or the other will be seeded against each other. But if you played fall and want to play in State Cup, then playing in winter is optional.
Fall teams NOT participating: FC, UPDX (including their B team who played in Silver), ADF (also including B team in silver), CFC, and Cuervos. Am a bit surprised CFC isn't doing winter league--they have their own fields, and are an Alliance club. Several of the other clubs either have had field access issues, or have directors/club leadership that are known to have a poor relationship with OYSA and Peregrine. Or they might simply be doing their own things (futsal, or even taking a break from soccer) rather than playing outdoor games in the nastiest part of the year.

Haha- many 1 goal games and I would caution the westside honk from proclaiming the three in his “tier 1” as favorites. I saw many teams playing different formations, tactics and styles compared to years past. When the thunderdome ramps up rotations will be shortened and styles/formations solidified......

Happy New Year! Looks like F-Bomb Mom is drunk already!

At the HS ages whoever has recruited the best players will dominate with different formations & tactics been this way for decades in Oregon. Due to such rampant parity nowadays it only takes a couple of better than average players to tip the scales in a team's favor.

And now it’s time to scrap the recap and rethink the tiers....
