Rumor has it there will movement in team makeup this year. Some ex westside TA kids (I will let you do the math) and fc pdx kids at westside tryouts, a couple updx kids (DZ AND RR) and cuervos kids at opfc tryouts? Any truth to this? If so it will be interesting to see how the teams shake out. Should be some good soccer with ADF/OPFC/Westside leading the pack again- if they ever get to play....

You have a point Westside does have a great soccer 'dad' coach, Dads rarely can make the leap from recreational coaching to classic teams-- full credit to this guy! Rarity these days to have a Soccerdad lining up vs. all the paid 'pro' coaches in the area. More power to the SoccerDad!! love it. It really helps sharpen the focus of where coaching is at in these days.

Impressive that a Dad can out recruit everyone. Calling him a 'coach' is a generous sentiment, not so wise one.

Duh, the �04 group is far superior than the �05�s. There isn�t an �05 that could crack the �04 team

Usually, when an academy is dealing with two-year age groups (as the TA U17s are), it is considered normal to have as close to a 50/50 mixture of the two ages as possible.

That said, the 05 class is weak compared to the 04 and 06 classes... so if there are only a handful of 05s (YE, LY, JB being the obvious candidates to stick around among the 05 class, as far as local kids are concerned) that's not a huge surprise.

If he's killing it in recruiting, perhaps he's more than a "dad"?

(And SE was one of the better players to come out of Eastside, even if his pro career didn't pan out).

SE played at other clubs than Eastside. he actually developed at Westside under Cony.
Daddies are always the best recruiters.

Also the Best coaches can actually coach & have no need to cold call (recruit) youth players.

Stop with the 05 class is weak BS - the WHOLE TA IS WEAK and lacks the direction and desire from the top that is necessary to be great
