DA is just watered down. Its basically the oysa premier league from last year. If US soccer was concerned about quality there wouldn't be 7 separate teams in the area. As much as I hate to admit it, the RTC program was a good model to find the specific group they are looking for.
I'm saying a good model not that it was run well or they selected the right kids - Last years team was a joke with some of the selections - total money grab.
Da is the top players is the area and I agree there could be fewer teams if done correctly but the majority of the top talent is in the DA. Actually- the rtc selections were pretty much spot on. I know there were probably kids missed but the bulk of the top kids in the metro area were included. Funny thing is you saw a distinct divide once parents and their kids declined TA. The group that spurned the TA actually performed better and placed more kids on the regional team..

Bingo! I thought they culled 98% of every kid who deserved to be there, but there were clear biased choices based on what I could only suspect were TA based decisions. 😆

        What does this mean?

        2 battering rams up front?
Does this mean two physical forwards?

Never saw a forward pass they didn't like?
Does this mean that they are constantly on the attack?

The silly thing about all this bickering: except for a few truly rare cases, nobody knows which local 12 year old might "make it". Even trying to identify the top dozen, or three dozen, is a fool's errand.

Oh please. Ask your kid who has the potential to "make it". They know.

Kids generally know who are the best players on their own teams, including things like ODP.

But they lack the experience to make judgements beyond that.

I'd give your kid more credit. These boys are competitive and smart. They know where they rank.

Hmmmmm, not all of these kids have brains. Look at what their parents post on TS. Clearly, the gene pool is lacking. At 12, they are listening their dumb ass parents.

Agree. Amazing how many changes occur in kids as they hit puberty and throughout their high school years.

Also, Cuervos had to forfeit their win against GPS last weekend. They are still participating in oysa, however.
I think that the FC/BSC game will be close. I think that Westside will get roughed up. I think that there will be a Capital/Eastside tie. I also think that FC and CU are a tie for 2nd in the rankings. FC lost 6-1 in the fall finale against WA Timb and so until FC gets revenge or WA Timb completely falls apart the argument is between CU and FC for 2nd. CU will argue that they tied WA Timb which might give them the edge. Spoke to my son and asked him who he viewed as the better players from other teams. He said that the FC fwd is good. The CU speedsters are good. Eastside had a great defender. A good Westside wing/Fwd. FC goalie=good (said he's a nice kid too) but more telling was that he thought that half of the good players are now on the TA. I asked him if there were any dirty players and he said that there are aggressive players but mostly they are respectful in the DA but that sometimes the parents will chime in from the sidelines. He said the coaches aren't as loud/ obnoxious as in OYSA (I'm thinking the video has an unintended calming effect).

Dude, I want my 30 seconds back. Why did you tell us everything your son thinks? Who cares!?!?! Can you imagine if all the parents came on here to share their 12 year old's thoughts on the coaches, leagues and players. He is a child and chances are his opinions are aligned with yours. Apple doesn't fall far.

Last time it was WashT 4-0.

Whatever Washington did over winter break... It didn't work.
