Speaking of driving your kid to practice, how is it that so many parents have these jobs that allow you to get your kid to practice by 5:30? My job has always gone until at least 5 pm and then the commute home. Without my wife, there was no way we could get the kids to practice that early. However I know a lot of working people are able to manage it. Must have much more flexibility than I do.

You get a city-based USDA program, something that doesn't exist today.

NE kids have to drive to Hillsboro currently, any spot in SW Portland is closer than that. Right now BSC draws from all over region, including SE Portland.

LOL - we will have the healthiest kids on the planet! Since it is Portland, will need to be organic and locally grown though.

Yes. I think that you are right. I have noticed that the FCP DA team has NEU*PDX on their sleeve.

That is what I had heard from FC parents all last year, leading up to DA....that they were partnered up with NEU for DA. Curious if BSC and FC are now partnered up as well? They could definitely form a nice DA team together!

Northeast United (NEU) and BSC Oregon (BSC) are excited to announce a merger of the two organizations to form United PDX Soccer Club. The two clubs have over 30 years of history in the Portland youth soccer scene and will combine to create the largest soccer club in Oregon, serving nearly 2,700 families throughout the Portland metro area

There were four boys from NEU that have been playing on the FCP DA. I'm not sure what this new merger will bring, but there is not any talk of FCP still being in the picture, so it appears that they have parted ways.

Looks like they are still labeling as two separate locales? On that link one logo for United PDX says “Bridlemile” and the other says “Rose City”. Why don’t they dump the Bridlemile school association once and for all?

It would make sense for them to have one region-wide A team (possibly getting later practice slots to avoid the worst of PDX traffic), whether DA or OYSA, and multiple B and possibly C teams at various locations.
