I am an ass. I am okay with that. I know who I am, and I am self aware. I also call out losers and call BS whenever it is needed.
Like right now. Promoted? That is almost as funny as your sideline sweatpants. They paid and play for a different team. In much the same way that Bend (who would kick your teams ass *ass, not azz* if they played you) was not relegated because they do not have DA. Regional All Star team. Sigh....My god, you are an insufferable person.
Ok tuff guy. I am a WT parent and know exactly who you are referring to with the sweatpants comment. Really, really evil of you. While I am not the OP, I believe you are wrong with that sweat pants assumption. If you knew that person at all and had any compassion in your heart, you would not say something like that. It is bullying at the highest level, so you should stop with the sweat pants, dress shirt comments. I can only imagine what kind of a hole your kid must be with you as an example. Clearly you have some massive self reflection issues yourself.
That's awesome if you think Bend would kick WT ass, or azz, or whatever. So manly and mature of you to puff your chest like this. Who cares!?!?!?!? You are on TS talking **** about Bend beating WT. You need to get a life dude.
Last, there are 3 very impactful players on TA from WT, not 2. There are 3 starters and all have a significant impact. One accounts for nearly 40 percent of the teams goals. Then other has saved about that ratio of goals as a sweeper. While another is critical in the midfield. There is one who is not seeing much playing time. While he is a very smart player, his size is hindering him.
Lay off the sweat pants and dress shirt guy. It's like picking on the kid with a learning disability boy in class. Just stop.

Nicely said. I am not sure what I am more shocked by... to find a Westside parent that actually has a moral compass; or the irony and hypocrisy of a Westside parent calling somebody else for a making a comment about somebody else. I have read nothing but negativity and blatant all out attacks by Westside parents directed towards kids and parents of other clubs. I believe your name must be kettle.

I get that. There are a couple WT parents and a coach who are a cancer. They are on here regularly chirping on and on. They have made absurd and critical remarks on behalf of WT that do not accurately represent the culture, the philosophy, or belief of people within the club. It only takes a few bad and loud apples to create a false stigma. Not to point fingers, but the same can be said for Wash Timbers, Crossfire, FC, Bend and ADF on this forum. All have had some incredibly ugly and inappropriate remarks. Some more than others, but who's keeping tallies?

I certainly hope there's no WST coaches in this place. (I certainly can't think of any that I could see coming here and talking smack).
I do recall last year, in the buildup to State Cup, someone from another club was essentially stalking a Copa player in this forum (one who is no longer with the club), including attacking him by name, attacking his parents, and posting links to his mom's FP page to this forum. THAT was despicable. I don't know who it was, or why they had such an issue with this particular player. I have my suspicions, but I will keep those to myself.
This year's DA team actually has a pretty good sideline--there's nobody who acts up during games, nobody who I hear badmouthing other kids on the team, etc. The parents all get along well with each other (and the boys seem to be friends, too).
That said, it takes two to tango. Don't complain about the behavior of other parents if you engage in gloating over victories, or boast that your club is better or that their club is on its way down. (Or start threads containing a certain club's name and a poop emoji). Especially in DA--sometimes player development means you don't put out your best XI, and sometimes that means you lose games you might have won otherwise. Or that you win games when the other coach gives his bench some playing time and you don't.
Everyone needs to find a club that fits them and their family. Other families may make a different choice. It's OK. Some people here seem to elevate youth soccer to a moral crusade. And if you change clubs, even if you leave the old club on less-than-stellar terms--move on. Ranting about the old club may make you feel better, but it makes you look like a fool.

Trust me, there are WST coaches (I first learned of this site from a WST coach) and coaches from other clubs on here. Not to mention DOC's from at least 2 clubs on here as well.
Northeast United (NEU) and BSC Oregon (BSC) are excited to announce a merger of the two organizations to form United PDX Soccer Club. The two clubs have over 30 years of history in the Portland youth soccer scene and will combine to create the largest soccer club in Oregon, serving nearly 2,700 families throughout the Portland metro area

Interesting. And quite possibly a good move for local soccer.
While small neighborhood clubs are good at the rec and non-premier levels; larger clubs will be more able to field quality premier teams. That said, travel to training might be a problem if the combined club fields a single A team (whether in DA or OYSA) that covers the entire area that BSC and NEU draw from.

People will travel for quality. Could easily do half of the sessions in each location, with a third done locally with kids from the top team training with rest of the group.

No one from the west side wants to travel to the deep east side for soccer practice and visa versa. Even if it’s only one day a week. This merger makes NO sense given the two club territories are miles apart with other clubs inbetween.
