It’s irresponsible and short sighted for TA not to have a “B” team where these boys could be getting play time. It will not be easy for them to just walk on to another DA team at tryouts. Not even at United PDX.

Two things:

1) It will be easy for them to walk on to another DA team at tryouts if they have a pulse.

2) In no version of reality should TA be supporting a B team.

Having a B team that competes in OR DA might be an interesting idea.

Just the A team. Having a B team provides a better environment for development so there can be movement between rosters. Look at all the large clubs south of the border. They ALL have multiple teams for each age group, not just one.

It’s a good question. If they were on another DA team could they play up as a DP to the Academy A team in games? If so, then probably Oregon DA. If not, OYSA.

Not after what we saw at TA training a few weeks ago. They would have to really show up and fight for a spot. Possibly could unseat some benchwarmers. Maybe could walk on at BSC as a few of their top players are looking elsewhere.

I believe what you're detecting is the gap between the very top group at TA and everyone else, rather than the gap between the bottom half of TA and the local DAs in general. Of course there are a few players at each local DA who would be a better fit with TA than the current bottom third or so, but it's a reach to say that the bottom tier TA kids won't fit comfortably back into local teams.

I am not sure. What might be more of a reach is to say reach there will be a landing place for those kids. Talent wise, they would have to be a significant upgrade to unseat a kid that has been with a club for a year, training and being a part of the team. I am not saying that will not happen, but I don't think it is a certainty either.

Has TA announced the head coach for next year for 05s? Or spinning it as “we all will coach all age groups” 😣
