If we're making "best of" lists--how do we handle kids who played up?
The list proposed above has one '06 who exclusively plays with Westside's 05 team; and several 05s who are rostered with their club's 04 team (and have played up).
Should we go birth year? Year of rostering? Year that the player primarily plays for?

(You will note how many Westside players he had chosen) so obviously he is biased....as we all are when it comes to our own kids. I honestly think I could make a list for half a team at this point, because that is all that has stood out so far to me. Like the 06 Westside kid???? When we ahead them, he never stood out to me at all. Doesn't mean he isn't a good player (I know who he is) but he did not play well in those games.
So I'll agree it's not a great list, but I doubt it came from any WT parent. (I am a WT parent, unrelated to either player mentioned, and those would be my top two picks from WT, though I should note that the 06 kid has been playing holding mid rather than left fullback lately...)

None absolutely jump off the page as the best yet. My observation (as an ex college player) is that some coaches may be playing kids at positions that may ultimately be their calling later and others are just playing them in a position to best win today without regard to long term "development" of the players. Let's be honest odds say maybe 1 makes it and gets paid to play this game, 10-15 will get scholarships and another 20-30 will play in college.
He also received an email for invite to the ‘04 National Team Camp as an ‘05. I think those two reasons explains enough

ODP is so last year.

4-4-2 Formation
1-FCP starting GK
2-WT 2006 very fast and scrappy, defender on the left.
3-CF bigger defender in the middle. Name starts with a D.
4-This is a hole. I would comb all the teams for a big, fast defender. I can't think of anyone that fits the bill. Anyone? Haven't seen one yet in this league I would be uber thrilled about.
5-CF, smaller defender on the right. Fast and fierce one. Likes to slide.
6-WT number 7 on the left. The one with a huge left foot.
7-WT midfielder they won't stop talking about in the middle of the park.
8-2006 FCP Mid, also in the middle. This one has initials PM. And absolutely not the overrated T from FCP.
9-BSC's center mid on the right.
10-FCP Big guy up top. Yes, the one everyone complains about for fouling.
11-His FCP counterpart that scores the majority of FCP goals also up top with him.
The player that has both impressed and pissed people off the most is the FCP forward that starts with an R. People love to hate him, but he is good and there is no denying that.
Can someone name a legit center back? I said legit.
Do you have the initials mixed up?
Do you have the team wrong?

And speaking as someone not from FC, I'd say FC deserves two-three players on this list, but not 4. #91, certainly. #4, a good argument can be made. Yes to the keeper. But no to #9--he's big and strong enough to play with the 04s, but apparently not skilled enough to hang with other kids his own size.
But still--the lack of Washington Timbers players here is ridiculous.
