    Agreed.

How does State Cup qualifying and seeding work, anyway?

Both teams and both sidelines were on excellent behavior, as far as I could tell.

Clear separation, though, at the top of the table in Premier Green. There's FC, there's Copa, and then there's everyone else.
      Easy there WT Dad.

Compared to the ECNL crowd, we're nothing.

Don't get too wound up about it. We all thought our kids were the next coming.

            Things change quickly.

This is but a moment in time. Keep in mind, half of ALL of these kids will change clubs within the next two years. WT especially.....Trust me, kids and reams are temporary from u12 on.

Keep in mind that many of the best male athletes switch to a diff sport. Soccer is most often left with the smaller & less athletic boys and the late bloomers.

ADF scored a goal that was not counted simply because the referee could not see the goal line from midfield. That, along with some questionable calls that favored FC or the difference in the game. I think these two teams are evenly matched and with an unbiased referee ADS would probably come out on top

What makes you say the referee was Biased

Just the fact that his kid's team lost. No other reason.

Seems like your team has a lot of losses for you to come on here bragging about being better than the top team in the state... Or were the refs biased in those games too?

....and this is the talk I gave to my son.

"Don't worry son, you lost because the referee was poor and you really should have scored 6. So technically, you beat them 7-3. If your team mates would have passed you the ball more instead of juggling it and doing toe taps then you would have won. Way to go son, let's go and get an ice cream to celebrate! Remember though son, when you fail, always blame others. Now go and be a good human being!

ADF is nowhere near FC. Not even in the same realm. Nice try ADF dad. Get some realistic points of view. No, this is not an FC parent either.

I know exactly what "goal" you are talking about and lets be honest. I could not be certain if it crossed the goal line or not from where I was standing as even the far sideline was difficult for me to be sure if the ball was in or out. Without being right down at the goal we will not know whether it was a goal or a save. If you (ADF parent) want the goal counted, I'll give it to you. New result: 3-2 FCP 3 points, ADF 0 points! Don't think that it really makes a difference in the standings.
As far as the referee goes, I thought that the youngster did a decent job officiating the game. It was a good game in which both teams were making hard slide tackles. In the moment there was actually a couple where I thought that and ADF player could have possibly been carded, but they weren't. Play on! Great game! ADF fought hard, didn't seem to get emotional like I have read about on here & they never gave up. FCP was just better.

Not an ADF parent nor a FC parent, but the goal in question should probably should have counted. That said, it doesn't change the outcome (ADF lost by two goals), though perhaps if ADF gets a tied score they change strategy and don't give up the third goal (the score was 2-1 when the play occurred). But you can't blame the ref much--she was at center field, the ball was cleared out of the net, and if nothing else, FC did a good job at selling it. (Never give up on a play, kids, until you hear the whistle blow).

Keep in mind--OYSA seems to have shifted to a mindset of these matches are for training young referees as much as training young players. Obviously, that's helpful for building the referee pool (which seems to be shrinking), but it's frustrating for parents who come to games, and think that no less than Howard Webb should be officiating their kid's U12 match.
