Bro....it is a 12 year old boys soccer game. I have zero doubt you are "super excited" but please get some perspective. I really believe that Washington has better players, and that they should win. However, Crossfire seemed to not have had any problems with them back in June. Westside plays a similar game to Crossfire, but lacks the athletes. (Cue Westside parent yelling, "we lost...insert the ever growing #....of players to TA! We have 06's playing....we are mostly a Samba team.") To which I reply, you have a team of boys. Let them play, let them develop, and let them have fun. Get out of their way and just support them. I am not a Washington Timbers parent a Westside parent, and while I love a Timbers on Timbers crime as much as the next person...let the kids play. Stop with the excuses, and conditional predictions. Enjoy the game. You only get one every week! Good luck to both teams. And please, do more than post a score. Tell us about the teams...how they played...the flow of the game. Wash Timbers won 4-0. The first goal was a really weird, slow motion scene that changed the momentum of the game. Wash Timbers scored two more goals in first half. Another odd one where WT goalie slipped and fell the wrong way. Westside could not get it together again for the entire first half. It was more evenly matched in the second half, but Wash Timbers squeaked out a 4th goal. As predicted, they were fast, athletic and aggressive. Westide's backline is very fast and the Wash Timbers forwards were hanging right there with them. They also passed well and maintained strong composure.Originally posted by Unregistered View Post
As also predicted the Wash Timbers parents were obnoxious and rude. They expected the red carpet to be rolled out for them and complained at least 10 times to 10 different people that Westside didn't provide a bench for their team. Turns out they aren't famaliar with the rules and this isn't an expectation. There was a tent scrounged up for them, which also was not required. Instead of a thank you, they bitched about the bench more and said it still should have been done out of courtesy. A bunch of whiny pre-madonnas. Not sad to see them depart for the other side of the river. Next time they should be familiar with the protocol before you raising hell. Horrible reputation is well deserved.
As promised, here is a big and hearty congratulations to their players though. They out played Westside and deserved to win.Comment
