So basically the DA's argument is "we are the best because we say we are the best." Got it. Without ever having played a game, formed teams, set up any kind of schedule, you are the best. Check.

We as US Soccer members all created the structure that gives US Soccer the authority to do this.

How did teams move from the Aug-July birthyear age group cutoff to just the single birthyear age group cutoff? How did teams go from playing 11 v11 to 9 v 9? US SOCCER says so and guess what that's how it is.

Are you really that sheltered from the policy making power of US Soccer when your own child is now playing on a team based on a new birthyear calendar? and then having to play 9 v 9 when it use to be 11 v 11.

Does your club not educate you on how this all works?

On one hand you can't seem to digest that US Soccer has somehow magically made a DA top level for youth soccer platform for the nation's elite clubs and on the other just accept that kids will play in a new birthyear format and play 9 v 9v vs 11 v 11 which impacts millions of kids. OPEN YOUR EYES and see the world as it is, not how you wish it was for you and your daughter.

The Beaverton cup is a gigantic stumble right out of the gate for the Thorns. Although it appears to be an appropriate tournament for their older team. The younger one should have sat out, done Crossfire instead, or at the very least played a year up.

Many teams use summer tourneys to get new teams used to each other, to the system, and to evaluate players. Many coaches also enter teams into different levels of competition--playing up in some tournaments, playing at level in others, even playing slightly down.

I think ECNL will last about 1 year and then fold. So, gone within 2 years from today.

If GDA takes over, the top girls will just move over from ECNL. If ECNL stays relevant, it'll be basically same as now with top players split on ECNL & GDAP. Nothing will change except the kits & who you make the checks out to either way. The Oregon players are still the same. The coaches are still the same. The CA players are still the same & will thump Oregon girls just like always. No league or academy is going to change that.
