Makes sense.
The $2K per year is big deal though.
On a side note, ECNL player only cost was not $10K, but you can pretend it did if it makes your argument sound better.
If the >$10k included parent travel then you should do the same for DA. Parent travel for DA will be higher due to the season being longer and more games.

Great for all the different groups to have a choice that fits.

But boys had no option like ECNL. This time is different. Yes some top players will want GDA. Some will not, including some top players. NT players will have their arms twisted to play GDA. Rosters will probably be half that really want to be there, half whose HS soccer sucks or their parents pushed them into it

Boys gave up their top platform USYS and ODP. Sacrifices were made to jump up to the DA.
Girls get much more athletic aid for college than boys that's all the ECNL has ever catered to was this title IX anonmoly and the aid is going to continue to grow for girls in the future which makes the top shelf always the most attractive.. US Soccers DA
The athletic aid is always there regardless of what league a club plays in. Now the best of the best have a new tier driven by US Soccer..not centered around the laziness of women's college coaches and overpaid docs in populated hotbeds across the US.
In Oregon the best must gravitate to just one club or DA.
Don't bet on our clubs it's never happened for the last 20 years.
No club has any magnet to outdraw the subsidized DA..

Anyone that chooses ECNL of GDA at this point in time is extremely short sighted.
