Good question. Four trains per week is hard on the homework schedule.

Believe Thorns. "Thorns Gda" will be exactly this years "Thorns Academy" except playing in a different & better league & tournaments. Same rosters too. New 03 & 04/05 GDA teams will also pull out more players from OYSA, further weakening OYSA but resulting in the outlying TA clubs moving into the top OYSA ranks from as young as '05.

Four required minimum? That would be great.

I don't mind paying the 125$ tryout fee but please don't break the GDA rule on "minimum of 4 training sessions per week". The girls that want to play DA want to play soccer soccer soccer soccer. 4/wk trainings are essential when all other non-GDA soccer (besides National team) is forbidden.

Only it won't always happen. If it's 3/week, which it will be at some clubs, then it's the same as ECNL clubs and with one less game/week as well with limited substitution rules

Comes down to resources. Each training session costs them coaching $ and possibly field $ as well if a club doesn't own their own field space. Some MLS clubs notoriously push out DA teams for their first teams, because, not surprisingly, the MLS team is what makes them money. DA teams cost them money

Problem is that the GDA division the Thornz are in will be weaker than OYSA Premier.

At least they have a division to play in, not sure if FC P & CU have any NW teams left to play, let alone any competitive ones.

                      Are thorns following this rule?

Training 4 times a week - except Thorns says it will be three times a week.

No tryout fee to make tryouts accessible to all - except Thorns is charging $125.

One game per weekend - except Thorns will do doubleheaders sometimes.

The teams haven't even been formed yet and Thorns are already making exceptions to two of the tenets that are supposed to be the foundation of the academy system - a training to game ratio of 4 trainings:1 game per week, and free accessible tryouts for all. I am genuinely baffled by those who don't see this for what it is. The biggest bait and switch in the history of Oregon soccer. And that's saying something.

Have all the same teams they have this year except Seattle Reign. If you haven't noticed, the ECNL didn't lose any top clubs to GDA (yes, some are doing double duty).

In case your local club coach didn't tell you any monster sized club that is registered in both (ECNL & GDA) have elected to select their top talent to play in the GDA. Nationwide many smaller clubs have left the ECNL platform for the GDA. In the PNW Seattle Reign and Crossfire Premier are now in the GDA and XF Premier is sending their best and brightest coaches and players to the GDA.

So the question is still on the table who are CU & FC P left to play in this region?

Silver lining with the migration of talent in the PNW (OR & WA) to the GDA those PNW Clubs left in the ECNL will have a better chance of competing.

Didn't all of De Anzas best and brightest coaches and now a few of their teams just up and go to SJ Quakes also?

In case your local caveman coach didn't tell you, you have no idea what you're talking about. Clubs fielding both GDA and ECNL are putting their "A" teams in ECNL because they know that's where the better competition and college exposure is. Their "B" teams will clean up in the GDA against dumpster fires like Thornz Academy so there's no need to subject their best players to the thuggery that is TA soccer.

As for the NW conference of ECNL, the only club leaving for GDA is Seattle Reign, and the only club doing both ECNL and GDA is Crossfire Premier (and Crossfire has already stated that their players can choose ECNL or GDA as they see fit).
