Girls leaving

Our goalie was just done. I think she favors basketball. As for the other one, not sure. Nothing dramatic. She may turn up at another club. It's really tough regarding the goalie situation as our backup is a great defender. We have a new coach so we'll see what happens this summer. The girls are fine with the change. It's all good. My DD is really excited for high school soccer. So glad I'm not spending Mother's Day at tryouts!!

Hey Lake O friend... welcome to the site. Lake O high school should have a decent JV squad next year, with maybe a couple on the varsity roster?

SV - I believe Betty is staying at ISB. I don't know if you had her as one of your unsure people or not, but her sister stayed there and I know her folks are pretty high on the school. Shu has gone there for 3 years now, but wants to switch to the high school next year. It's really been a great school. I highly recommend it if anyone is interested. It's one of the magnet schools with a focus on culture & language. They are clearly above the regular middle schools.

She was one of my unknowns. Is ISB the "International School of Beaverton?" I just drove past it the other day while circumventing traffic on TV Hwy. I don't mean to sound like a neophyte, but I had no idea that school was even there. Sounds like a good school. Will she play HS ball for them or another Beaverton-area high school?

You know, I don't know what she's going to do for soccer. She is able to play for Aloha I believe since that is the high school she would attend if she wasn't going to ISB, which is the International School of Beaverton like you thought. It's only been around for 3 years now. That use to be the old Aloha Elementary School. They added on to it to make it bigger. They initially started out with just 6th, 7th and 8th grade, then added one more grade each year so I believe next year they'll also have 9th, 10th and 11th grade, as well. I could be off a year, but it sounds right. Was good to see you at the game yesterday, even if it was for only 10 or 15 minutes. I missed HM though.

Good news!!!

I heard thru our team manager that OR Rush's goalkeeper went home from the hospital on Saturday. It appears that she has viral menegitis, which can be cured with antibiotics. She should be much better in appx two weeks. Get well soon, Alli!

Kind of Creepy

As an FC parent, I find it quite odd, and a little disturbing, that parents who are in no way associated with our team, have "insight" to what high schools are kids will attend. Why do you care? (Plus, you're way off.) Feels like stalking to me! You folks are probably the same ones that hide out in the parking lot at Liberty to see which girls try-out for the team. Or better yet, hang around and watch our evening practices before big tournaments! It seems like you all have pleanty of other quite interesting topics to discuss (yawn) in relation to your own teams. Just my two cents.

Knock it off and don't flatter yourself so much. None of us sit in the Liberty High School parking lot to watch FC Portland teams practice. I don't watch my own daughters practice, let alone waste my time watching your kids practice.

Apparently you have plenty of time to waste, as well since you're online here posting. It's too bad you don't join the board and get to know everyone rather than simply be a pest. I know several of the girls playing for FC Portland Marine and have even coached one of them years ago. I've also never had anything but respect for the team.

Excuse me for showing some interest in other teams around the area. We're simply making small talk here. You can choose to join or just leave.

We are always very positive of our own daughters teams, all the other teams and of those who post here. So, if you don't like what you read, just click the little red "X".

I am guessing here, but I think FC Parent was just put off by some other poster presuming to know what's going on with the Marine players. FC parents in general avoid posting on the various forums so intersted third parties sometimes try to fill in the blanks and often times miss the mark.

This is a response to Shu's Daddy and Sodium Fan:
The point of an open message board is to allow various parties to express their thoughts in a reasonable and direct fashion. To suggest that someone who critiques the content of this forum should simply abstain from such expression goes against the fundamental precepts of the message board itself. Telling the FC parent off for sharing their concern about what, for lack of a better word, is third party surveillance of an opposing team's players, strategies, etc. is fascistic and self-serving. Shu's Daddy: "Knock it off and don't flatter yourself so much", you are the one who is behaving absurdly. If you consider posting to these forums a waste of time as you indicated, why become so upset when someone voices their dissenting opinions? If you find yourselves tempted to simply deride my post as that of a "pest", think a little about what I've already said. These message boards are an open forum where the people involved in Oregon's soccer scene post their thoughts. Who are you to try and seize authority and act as censor? Also, Sodium Fan, ever think that those reading on these boards might not be using a mac?
