You know, the ones who are trying really hard to get your kid because they realize their situation doesn't look good without good players around them.
Their gamble isn't paying off more and more.
Overloaded rosters of 27 to manage costs.
Atrocious costs and then you find out that you are going to the same crossfire challenge that any random team can go to.
Not developing but recruiting coaches who don't care because their is always one more gullible parent.
Can't figure out why coaches are telling fellow parents to try and go find other developed kids so they can replace the current ones who are sitting other 26 others players.
Some of the worst parents. Always 1-2 from each club and they are always the cancers. A couple pretty good players but the talent is diluted.
Try harder ecnl parents. Try harder.
Oh imagine that my dd got a D1 offer and I didn't fall for the scam.
Imagine the idea they can't do anything but sell and recruit because their development is garbage.
They ll always be a gullible family waiting for the next best thing.....

for everybody. Hey, some community college league? No problem. PCC is great.
HOWEVER, if you want your dd to play as a starter in a top 25 Div 1 team, she better
come from a very good ECNL team, national pool player, or the rare player that didn't
do ECNL. She needs to be on fire. I can safely say that Top Div 2/3 teams are full
of ECNL girls.
Sorry to burst your bubble, dad. But even local colleges, like Portland State, have
three tiers of players. Impact/Starter players with scholarships, good core committed players with little or no scholarships, and walk-ons. Then, there is college intramural.
See, your dd can play in college!
I love the movies that shows a diamond in the rough turn into the star player and wins the hearts and minds of the coaches, team, and the school.
But that is fantasy. Hard work, talent, and sacrifice get to play high level sports.
Aim low, dad. Your dd will that target.

Ecnl is a scam in oregon. Not only are they not getting more offers then previous they are now having to deal with
Lack of development because of the poor quality of many of the teams.
Numbers at the development ages 13-16 has plummetted. Expensive, poor development, and coaches over recruit to replace them rather than help.
Overloaded rosters only to manage costs
Poor development at early ages and forced to recruit
Toxic parents who come thinking they were sold a magic bullet by other toxic parents and snake oil fcp coaches.

Its pretty amazing with all the ecnl propaganda trying to fool people, youd think the ecnl parents would want to keep their amazing situation a secret...
I ran into another parent trying to sell me on the league but it turns out the team is pretty mediocre and the structure doesnt look great in actually making kids better. Sure they get to play different teams but so do all teams if they travel. They cant stop recruiting but they already have rosters wAyyyy to big.
Puzzling.

As terrible as ECNL is, there are sure a lot of talking(whining/moaning/complaining etc) about it. A lot of time and energy criticizing by those NOT doing ECNL. I mean, things that are inherently terrible, should be obvious to everyone without the incessant whining about it, Right?
You think an ECNL parent was trying to sell you on it and you disagree. But, You disagree so much that you take the time and energy to vent on an anonymous chat board about it. If you declined because it's not for you or your DD, then why post? After all, it's a personal choice right?
IF that parent was trying to recruit your DD, that parent must feel your daughter is capable of playing at the ECNL level. Instead of being flattered Declining quietly (I presume you did), you're posting about the evils of ECNL. Why protest so much about something you want NO part of?
Puzzling.

I'ts well documented their club team struggles in the showcases and even vs the border states in the mountain division. I don't blame them for recruiting strong players to their fold, currently they can't compete and need to upgrade their roster with more talent. If all the parents on the team want to pool their money and pay for our daughter's travel that would be a good start of a discussion, it isn't, so we stand pat delighted for future and her club's and HS team level of competition.

Simply we have no interest in paying that much to travel in airplanes, stay at hotels and rent vans just to play soccer vs unknown teams until the week prior to the event and gambling that much money for the chance to be 'seen' while these local neighborhood girls club teams are being smoked at such events. Of course parents try and recruit our daughter as she can play and has a verbal commitment to play at a mid major college.

For something you want no part of, why protest so much? If you're trying to save others from ECNL, why? We are all accountable to ourselves and our DD's, Not anyone elses. Live your own lives, be happy with YOUR choices.

We try our best to explain to these parents you know it's it's really not our thing and we're happy where we're at but what's so irritating is they just don't stop recruiting...they must be really desperate for some talented players and be in way above their heads in this episode of insanity.
flattering at first now it's just plain pathetic
