Great touches, passing, 50/50, and team spirit.

Parents of Timbers 05 Red1, be proud that your girls played an awesome tournament
and haters, stop the meanness crap. I hope that your girls can play in RCL Div 1 in the
fall and make that trip to the Seattle area. We will be ready for you... :)
it would be stupid for 10 year olds to drive to seattle to play soccer.
drive for over 6 hours to get 30 minutes of playing time? No wonder kids quit the sport

Ahh, must be a parent of the CU ENCL 03 team who played at age and against
the B teams and still couldn't get out of the bracket at crossfire.
No, you stay in Oregon and weep and gnash your teeth at disservice you do to your dd.

But no need for ECNL to compete with their inferiors on the pitch, because showcases! College recruiters!
Look. These clubs send teams to one another's tournaments. These tournaments are fundraisers. THUSC had teams at Beaverton Cup.

Tired of all the trash talk. College recruiters are also club coaches and also friends of club coaches. People need to realize that a lot of players at these area tournaments already have made verbal commitments or are considering offers. Some simply don't have a plan yet. They are no different from players in other leagues, here and elsewhere.

I hope the marshal (a club volunteer) has a good data plan, because h/she had the most boring job in the world that day....
          Same setup at Beaverton HS.

So you could care less? So you are concerned about what happens?

Someone else pointed out that Red 2 and Thorns Academy 99 weren't even in the same bracket (the only part of this which is demonstrably true).

Currently, the Beaverton Cup results page has no indication of any team forfeiting any matches. The HS Silver division final score is still reported as FCP Navy 3-1 ***C Red 2. If cheating were detected during the match or immediately after (there's a limited time window for protests of this sort--which is common for tournaments), ***C Red 2 would have probably been disqualified, and not gotten to play in the final. There's a reason that well-run tournaments have marshals at the venues, and stamp rosters at checkin (checking against player cards)--so any ineligible players can be detected quickly and at the site, without needing the more cumbersome check-in procedures of league games. (Teams still need to have player cards present in case there is a challenge; they aren't examined by the ref before each game like they are in league play).

Bottom line--unless someone can demonstrate evidence of ***C cheating, I'm getting inclined to think this is a bunch of horsesh1t. And I've no affiliation with ***C.
Hey let me dumb this thing down for you Portland Hipsters, put down the pot pipe for a second. Think Sesame Street, which one of these games does not look like the others?

You have to go to the Westside office to check in for the tournament with all your docs in order and get everything stamped. Those folks are tough too! If you have to check in at the Rec Center and don't have it all in order, they make you go get it together by a certain time or that player doesn't get to play. I even saw them forfeit an entire club's teams once because the registrar accidently did everyone at the wrong age groups-although people told me that she'd done that before at other tournaments.

We've done this tourney for so many years and WT is excellent about double-checking and following up on complaints. The refs are glad to have the checks and balances too as it makes it easier. If there's an issue, someone had a field marshall or tournament official there. I saw the semi and final at the Rec Center so I know that those weren't forfeits. Not sure what those people are talking about.

Geez. Some angry people these days.
Actually pretty easy to cheat. You check in your roster and cards to start, but they do not match up pictures of cards to kids anytime after that. You can bring whoever you want to the field, nobody checks anything.

You need player cards at the field--if there is a complaint, the referee has a right to inspect them.

It is true, they don't check in player like a league game--summer tournaments count for far less (winning the Beaverton Cup and $4.75 will get you a mocha at Starbucks), and the need to have ten minutes between games requires expedited procedures. But if someone suspects that the player wearing a given jersey is not the player listed on the roster--you need to have the player cards present.

Anyone trying to cheat in a tournament like the Beaverton Cup is lame, anyways.

Something's never change like spending serious money to put in new fields only to have them ruined by people tracking mud on to the pitch. This clubs overhead must be outrageous with all the claims they get in from people's repair bills on their vehicles. Some day maybe the club will figure it out everything in life needs a break or attention , if not it will cost twice as much to fix or repair but something's never change

I'm pretty pumped that the parking lot and third field will be getting done this coming spring. It is much needed.

Don't know about the parking lot, but the 3rd field should be going in, and that will be nice.

As far as the poster above, I have no clue what all stuff you are talking about. They are in fine financial shape (thus the reason they are in position to put in a 3rd field) so you can try to tear them down, but you should get facts first.

I love to watch you white trash vantuckians go at each other. It's comical.
looks like someone is bent out of shape that their kid didn't make a team again. You can always come over to our DA Program. It's not a long drive.

But I will abstain and say that for you to be irritated by this will probably not cause any waves because in reality your club is doing very well and has made a 180 degree change.

after more thought don't bring your kid to our DA, just go back to the Spartans, it's where your personality fits anyways. We don't want you to come here with your bacteria
Eastside of Portland is for poor uneducated mooks who can not seem to get on with Intel or any other tech biz on the Westside....NOW, go make me a sandwich and pour me another cup of coffee, Eastside, and maybe I'll leave you a lil tip for your servitude.
