I have stayed off for a while as I used to bash Wa Timbers as well. But I'll be honest anyone who hasn't watched what has happened after they replaced their board and their coaching directors isn't watching what is changing. There have been more changes the last few years than the previous 10.

3 years ago: coaching staff not great (mostly parent coaches at all A and B teams), no philosophy, no turf fields (it was a running joke that they were ever going to get them).

Looking at them now, they have 2 turf fields about to be 3 (no other club has that, closest would be FC portland which has to share theirs). A coaching philosophy that is anti bootball (anyone that says differently hasn't actually been around the club the last 2 years, itwill take time but it is moving that direction). And finally the coaching staff. There are almost 0 parent coaches left on A and B teams in the entire club. At most there are 2 parent coaches (at all ages A and B teams), and thats it.

Any club that would do all that within 3 years would be thrilled, and thats the reason those who are involved are excited, and those who are still holding onto old grudges are still ignoring the changes.

Highest licensed staff in SW Washington. What club in SW Washington is doing better?

I'm sure we will hear crickets
Best in SW WA? Woohoo! Like being the tallest midget. Come back to let us know when you move up from the rec leagues.

You have no idea. And my kid's team has NEVER lost to any WA Timbers team, of any level. Not even close. Bootball thugball doesn't work against truly talented and well-developed teams. Works pretty well in OYSA though.

Wow, where does your super talented kid play? I don't want my child to miss out on this incredible development. Do tell.

            Well said

Don't see Pacific or any of their folks doing anything like they are at the Timbers. Soon they'll be an afterthought.

Nah....we need clubs like Pacific in our area. They fill a gap that is needed for local players. The Washington Timbers work with Pacific not against them

That's true. Pacific develops the younger players. Then the top 20% move across the river to Crossfire or FCP. The next 20% move to Timbers "A" teams, replacing the kids that were never developed.

No one is going to those clubs anymore. Those clubs can't seem to get anyone anymore. Why do you think they don't have any good players.

With your numbers that would mean that there are 12-15 Pacific grown players playing ECNL?
                    Please name those players.

                    Crickets I'm sure

About the same numbers as those that moved from WashT. Very few from either club can make ECNL as they just don't get developed in Vancouver.

Your coaches would say otherwise. No really. They won't stop calling. Why do you think they don't care about your kid? Why are you so anxious about the fact that your kid ain't getting better?

No one is going to Ecnl Oregon clubs from Vancouver anymore. It's a scam and your coach can't even sell your kids spot away.

The main reason why the Ecnl clubs are so bad right now is because no Vancouver kids are going there anymore. They served a purpose back when to get rid of the toxic parents. Yes the same ones who are still on here trying to spread their cancer.

Everyone knows that the Oregon Ecnl clubs can't get anyone from anywhere currently and because they do such a bad job their kids never develop.

You keep trying to recruit Vancouver kids while we push on our cancer families to you.

LOL. Ok Timbers Dad. Fact: Some of the best players in Oregon ECNL on each age division (especially FCP) are SW Washington kids. They are generally the first recruited and committed. So talent has and will continue to migrate south because the horribly run programs in SW WA can't provide enough competiveness or exposure to their high level athletes. And as far as the "cancer families" comment, we all know that to be code for "I'm jealous of those people and it irritates me that they act better than we are." Deal with it. Stay at Harmony or King's Way or Prairie or Ridgefield HS and be the best of the rest.

Definition of a "cancer" parent: someone who moved their kid to a better club/team/situation and left you behind.
