Eastside / Do they have girls teams?

A quick look at State Cup finals and Eastside got zilched. At least Westside has a couple of older girls teams made it to the finals (considering most of the talent is playing ECNL, this might not be that big of an accomplishment.) What happened to Eastside? Have they decided to just focus on the boys?

The simple answer is NO. They all implode after U14 when thugball bootball stops working.

Most of their current u14 G team has been spotted at CU ECNL tryouts and Thorns preview nights.

They didn't even do well at the younger ages.

Too bad none of them will make ECNL. No room for thugs.

Rumor is that Eastside is closing up shop on the girl's side of the house. No quality and can't attract any to the 'hood.

Those Westside players actually do have accomplishments so don't dismiss them so soon. There is plenty of 'talent' outside of ECNL.

And a lot of "non-talent" on the local ECNL teams. But of course, every parent who has a kid with an ECNL patch thinks they are super stars. They give out rose colored glasses for the parents and grandparents during tryouts.

Sure there may be overlap between the best of OYSA and the worst of ECNL but it's a small overlap. In general 80%+ of the top players are in ECNL

Eastside has not had much luck with high school age girl's teams in the past 4-5 years. They had at least one director of coaching who was very detrimental to the girl's side. Even so, they have had many female players who start at ESUFC or EST, develope and move on to do very well. To me it really is not different than some of the clubs who do very well with girl's teams that are horrible on the boys side.

I posted not caring about ECNL it's a different beast. I was simply referring to EST girls teams, they appear to be non-existent. While in the past they would have the occasional very good team.

Not really. There was a pretty darn good team at westside that has now graduated and moved on. It's pretty bland now.

There are a few more clubs that could be added to that list. ***C for one.
