Please temper your obvious enthusiasm. Financially GDA won't work like the boys side. On MLS teams the MLS pro club covers all costs, including travel, often even uniforms and cleats (usually donated by manufacturers). Non MLS teams have reduced fees, usually about $1000 cheaper than a premier club, and USSF soccer gives a slight subsidy for travel but parents essentially are on the hook for travel. This is what will happen on the girls side. It will not be free for girls except the occasional scholarship.
Beyond price there are many other issues to consider: if it's a smaller league than ECNL travel will be worse to league games. There's a no substitution rule - once you're out you're out. There a no HS soccer rule (tough call for many players). There's no real pro path for women, and even on the mens' side 99% do it to improve their college opportunities. Boys DA works because there is no strong national B league alternative. ECNL will give girls options and still provide a pathway to college soccer, meaning GDA won't be as strong as they're hoping for.
Finally, it's unlikely there will be any GDA program around here. Sorry to burst your bubble
Oregon has the most popular WPSL team. Just because we don't have more than 3 girls a decade who have any shot at a youth national team, doesn't mean we won't have a girls DAP. They won't have to make Oregon's girls DAP free or even subsidized because all the delusional Oregon parents will bet the bank on the new US patch for their dd's jersey. It will basically be a modified Thorns Academy. Just like ECNL, it will help our top 10% make it to PSU and the other same lower level schools they would have gone to anyway. Juice boxes for everyone!

Women's soccer high 3 figures, you mean so like for 700-800? If you actually meant 6 figures, then no way. But why invest thousands on a player, actually on a whole group of players when you might possibly, maybe one day have the one Mallory Pugh of the generation that you have those rights to? Not likely. Also, boys barely by-pass college when there are not as many options in college for boy to go to mediocre pay. We are talking about top women's players, so that means top end education and a good offer, Why would a young woman give up an education at a PAC12, ACC or WCC school for very poor pay when if they are really that good can go do that after college. It just isn't a concept that makes any sense. Girls will pay to play in the DA because there is no money in it for the NWSL or for US soccer.
Yes i meant high 3 figures. You and I are on the same page. I was trying to be funny.

Other organizations have already announced their girls academy programs. I think it is fair to say these organization will apply for DA status in May. Like it or not, I think it is fair to say that this is yet another direction that girls soccer is heading in. It is very likely you will see a girls DA both in Seattle and in Portland.
WPSL, NWSL, whatever. It's all the same - a propped up "professional" women's soccer league. Doesn't change the fact that Oregon produces maybe one national team playing girl about every 20 years, if we're lucky. Also, doesn't change the fact that we will get a GDAP and folks will flock to it. Also doesn't change the fact that no one really cares about girls soccer except their crazy parents.

Isn't crossfire Washington a BDA club? Will they be forced to drop ECNL in favor of GDA?
Whatever you say crazy, delusional girl parent. Keep that nut job reputation in full effect.
LOL. You will never, ever keep up with the lunatic girl parents of Oregon TS. I think it may be a cult. Never have a seen such fervor over something so insignificant. But it is fun to poke the bear.

And then lots of flights to play games in California and Texas because there won't be more than 1 or 2 clubs in the NW. Can you say "double the cost of ECNL"?

Might get a GDAP but there won't be much "flocking". Higher costs, more travel, no HS soccer, no re-entry on subs, no games outside DA league. It's got all the makings of a complete failure.

Exactly. Or will Portland play Seattle every weekend? GDA will be focused in certain regions - SoCal, NoCal, TX, CO, Chicago, Boston/NT/CT/NJ, MD/DC area, Carolinas/GA and FL. Any regions where theres a cluster of players and clubs and distances won't be too crazy. Start having too much travel - even for league games - and ECNL will be much more appleaing
