Hey, at least Crossfire Premier produces winning programs. Paying ECNL money there isn't a waste, like it is at Crossfire United. It's hard to believe that Crossfire Premier let them even into the family. I bet they are really kicking themselves over that gaff. Not smart on their part, not smart at all. Unless they are getting a kickback in fees, which softens the blow.

It was a lot better than the alternative of letting one of the Timbers clubs into the organization.

Timbers were smart enough to know that Oregon couldn't compete in ECNL. Instead, CU is just soaking the parents for more money for the same crappy coaching and training and the opportunity to travel out of state for lots of money to get their asses handed to them. Some parents will see the light, others will continue to fellate Tom and pay through the nose to do it. LOL

If you want to get in front of eye balls that watch girls youth soccer why not go with the PROVEN product called the ECNL? The ONLY reason that a corporate sponsor would choose the GDA over ECNL is because its a requirement to get in front of the MLS and US National programs....aka BLACKMAIL.

The other question that has to be answered when evaluation the choice is player ownership. "If" you were a top female player why would you give up your player rights for a slightly cheaper playing opportunity in weak league?

Now for the vast majority of the players player rights is not an issue but for the top 10% of players at this level it IS something to think about especially when you consider that euro teams are paying much more than the domestic teams.

            Thanks Tom for your input.

Certainly the Nat's will pressure players for playing in the domestic league, if the player is that good. That will happen no matter what youth option you take.

If you think your player is turning down big money in Europe to play in the NWSL, tho, you're probably as good or better than anyone on the current NT and have no worries :)

This past weekend should be the final nail in the coffin for Portland ECNL.

Claiming the Timbers were smart is going a little too far. They tried to get ECNL and were shown the door. After 2 years of Thorns Academy, all we can say is that the ECNL honchos were right.

Every weekend is the final nail in the coffin for the Timbers Alliance and Thorns Academy. Both are long dead - just going through the motions to save funeral expenses.

The irony is the Thorns aren't even in the top 5 in the State. Not any better at u17

FC is really struggling at the younger ages.

ECNL is going to be 2nd tier next year so they should show better.

Compared to every other club in Oregon, FC is head and shoulders above all at every age. Guess your TA club should close up shop.

That post was from a CU coach who is trying to save face. Pretty much every CU team is a disaster. Especially U14-U16. They are getting destroyed in every game practically. The U14s managed a draw this weekend, but that was shear luck. The CU program is a complete mess. It's a horrible model and they can't fix it. The sad part is that none of the U16 girls are getting any sniffs at college. The U15s are terrible and won't see anything either. So for two classes, you are going to see about three girls per team get offers. Not good. Rah rah ECNL.

So the post that you are referring to actually bashed ECNL in entirety not just FC, so why do you think it is a CU coach? Be use you say it is?mthere is absolutely no identifying factors other than they think ECNL will be second tier. And what does that mean? There are one or two trolls going around talking about second tier toward both TA and ECNL, pretty sure that is not a CU coach or any coach for that matter.

CU is having a pretty hard time of it.
