ECNL has become very diluted and does not serve any sort of development purpose.

USSDA will bring the cost down, eliminate posted results and focus on style of play. You think that womens soccer is good now? Wait in about 12 years. US Womens soccer has fallen behind in how the game is played. They still play like its 1999 but their pure athleticism gets them results. This new direction will help develop these players into even better players. We are not reaching our full potential with the current system.

I welcome this change along with other developmental soccer minds in this country

F.C. Portland Academy is proud to announce that it has been invited to be part of the inaugural season of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy U12 Boys Program. F.C. Portland Academy joins an exclusive group of Academy clubs that will develop individual players at a critical age and help these players progress through the Academy programs.

The Academy is a comprehensive program that provides education, resources and support to impact everyday club environments that will develop world-class players. Our club was selected based on our commitment to U.S. Soccer Development Academy’s 7 Key Performance Categories:

    1. Player Development Effectiveness
    2. Staff Leadership, Structure, and Qualifications
    3. Style of Play and Philosophy
    4. Training Environment & Personal Development
    5. Facilities & Infrastructure
    6. Respect
    7. Resources

“We are very excited to be involved in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy” said Boy’s Director of Coaching Rob Baarts. “This program aligns with our vision for development and competitiveness. F.C. Portland has always prided itself on being the cutting edge of the game and being part of this program supports that”.

The club has received limited information as of now but we will have more information to you shortly explaining the plans and implementation of our U12 Boys Development Academy Program.

Prior post that you are referring to was about Eastside Timbers 00girls group, But Jesuit is cool also. My daughter doesn't play for either of them but we think she is cool as well.

My sources tell me there will be a new USSDA for U3 and younger for only Jan-April birth years. Kids will identified by parents checkbooks. Parents who pay $800 for the year upfront will receive a patch identifying their kids as Elite. I don't have a link though but the announcement should be made public soon. My sources tell me this will eliminate any discussion on who is elite.D1 scholarships are guaranteed for players who play from u-3 through U17. Kids with May-Dec will be turned away at tryouts.

We are still waiting for ECNL to arrive in Portland. They have two clubs that say they are ECNL and each has a bunch of teams, but they sure don't act or look like ECNL teams. Costs are in line with it however.

Guys it is simply a league. Nothing else is different. Oregon has never been more than moderately competitive regionally or nationally

And the college commitments are similar other ECNL clubs. Other TA teams may get 1 or 2, but the amount of girls being offered to OR ECNL girls is certainly outpacing the non-ECNL

Been discussed many times before. But please spew lies in the face of facts.

Facts are facts. The OR ECNL commits out number the TA commits 4-5:1

Supported by facts, but it is more than 5:1 ECNL OR players vs TA players. Also missing recent Big East commit from CU

Yeah a lot of kids are transferring over to that program late in their club careers but the vast majority of those players that are going to college were trained by an alliance club. Facts are facts.

Who gives a rip who trained them? The facts are the facts, if you want to play college soccer you will have better exposure and the proof is in the number of commitments. Even those who committed with TA clubs are now playing ECNL
