The problem with ignorant fools like you is that you think the process isn't worth it if you aren't going to be the best in the world. Quit now. Why try. Just go home and play your TA rec soccer. You don't understand competition and what drives people because you're a quitter. You're average and you know it.

You want to put down the hard work kids put in to their sports because they aren't going to be the best in the world. This goes for any sport (they all travel now). What you're missing is that these kids are working to be the best THEY can be. For many that means reaching for higher levels of competition. Average people like you want everyone to be satisfied with average. You're average MoreBull and that's why you're incapable of understanding what drives real competitiors for more. It's not the parents. It's kids who are better than average people like you.

So ask yourself why you spend so much time talking down kids who push for more than average. Why does it bother you MoreBull? Why is wrong with you?
So what your saying is ONLY the players on the ECNL or Thorns team work the hardest to be the best they can be ? OMG.....You've just proven my point.

You have drank the cool aid for so long now nothing else compares. You are the poster child of what these organizations need. A sheep that will follow their every word as if its the word of the almighty that will take you to higher ground. Your assuming that I have a problem ??? You should read what it is that you type before you hit "Submit Reply".

Your paying more then every before to play the same sport, coached by the same people, ran by the same organizations...and youve got the patch to prove it.

Higher Level is fine, but you cant even beat those in your own backyard or over the neighbors fence. Traveling 1000's miles to stroke YOUR ego is not what your player desires. Just ask em if they like flying to far away places and loosing over and over. Then compare that to a car ride to Seattle with the same results. On Monday, when your sitting at your desk, in your cubicle and checking online your credit card account balances do you often think the same ??? Im sure you dont share those thoughts.

Loosing is never fun or inspiring.

So why do the Timbers clubs keep doing it then? Losing games, losing coaches, losing players, losing entire teams.

Money, Money, Money. Your money. The club strokes the parents EGO and the coaches do the same to the player (actually I think thats FC's handy work in recent years)

Losing is never fun, especially spending $1000 per kid times 7 teams times 18 players per team. Going 0 for the entire weekend, now that was some really good decision making. But it was good for exposure. For the other teams that is.

Who went zero for what weekend? Wasn't ECNL in Phoenix. Might be TA clubs in FWRL or NWCL though.

In order for these leagues to succeed, they should be offering some sort of stipend or subsidy to those that are less qualified to compete. At least it wouldnt sting so bad afterwards if you knew you paid less to be there.

Reading comprehension fails you. It's not just ECNL, DA, or even just soccer. You can't separate parents ego from a child's desire. Probably because you were one of THOSE parents. You still ARE one of THOSE kind of people. Everything is about you.

These teams have consolidated talent. Thu are better than previous versions of themselves. It's a hard concept for you clearly. Read that slowly so you hopefully understand.

Oregon ECNL teams aren't losing all their games. They did last weekend. It was a bad weekend. Should everyone quit now? That's for quitters like you. A cross the season these teams will do fine just like they did last year. Yea yea yea..... We know, quit now if you're not going to be the best and if you're not going to win the national championship. Someone's better than you right!!

You're average. You can't understand what drives kids to work hard and get better. To work toward being the best THEY can be. It doesn't mean they have to do ECNL. It's an option for those do.

It's perfectly fine to not do ECNL. It is certainly entertaining watching you average am desperate anti-ECNL make up excuses for why other people shouldn't do it.

Isn't that what OYSA/Timbers league does for the TA clubs? Half price entry fees because they know those clubs are only half baked?

It doesn't sting as bad when the games are conpetitive. You should talk to some of the parents and get their perspective. With the exception of one of FCP's teams, the games were competitive.

Winning every game doesn't develop either. I would t expect an average quitter like you to understand though.

No one is making fun of your dd for doing it. We are pointing out how stupid you are for thinking she is going to get some big time offer for wearing an ECNL uniform.

Don't distract MoreBull. He is busy pounding out a rebuttal as to why he thinks other people should do what he says because he is an Internet expert on youth soccer.

I have yet to see a single post making that claim.

No one has said that. The facts are though, that the vast majority of D1 players come from ECNL. Fact. Doesn't mean every ECNL player will play D1 but it means that those that don't play ECNL have are much less likely to play D1.

that maybe true on the West coast. but elsewhere the ECNL is just another league to play in.
