The PDX clubs are the best of the best in Oregon. Facts are facts. And that's what national leagues need: the best of the best from each region. Too bad your TA club doesn't even come close to measuring up - actually TA clubs don't even measure up when compared to "B" teams from ECNL clubs.
And, as even the most simplistic TA lemming knows, there is no tier system in ECNL. There is in Oregon - non-TA on top, all TA clubs below - but not in ECNL.

They have 4 now (Boston Breakers, Orlando City, Seattle, Western New York). If Thorns get their house in order they will get a franchise also. It is not about population size. It is about development with the U-littles. If Oregon Soccer can do that part right they will flourish like other areas with small populations. This has nothing to do with money. ECNL clubs do not make money off of those programs. Are you kidding? Labor intensive programs like ECNL are not cheap to operate. US Club is a nonprofit just like USSF. They may make money off people wanting to come to those clubs at earlier ages in hopes of making an ECNL team. But that would be because their early development models are superior. Soccer parents are not stupid, with perhaps you being one of the exceptions.

If your so elite than why did one of your ECNL teams get beat 3-1 in last years United Cup Torunament. By what is considered THUSC B team.

It's THUSC playing THUSC with a mix of random players on each team. You think anybody really cares about those games. Show me where a TA team has beaten an ECNL team this past year.

It wasn't a mix of random players. That team had been together for the entire season, only one year together, and they handled that ECNL team (which was playing with all of their starters).... they handled them like they were a rec squad.

That ECNL squad barley beat FC Portland's B/C team. Not a very good showing for a 10 times more elite squad. I would be upset if I paid that kind of money for that. It just goes to show that 80 percent of that ECNL squad would be quickly replaced by other players on those non-ecnl teams.
