I did.... Even bad public schools will have one that went to Yale or Stanford.

The four or more students going to list is more pertinent.

    Baylor University Seattle University
Boise State University Texas Christian University
California Polytechnic State University, SLO The University of Arizona
Carroll College (Montana) University of Notre Dame
    Gonzaga University University of Oregon
Loyola Marymount University University of Portland
Oregon State University University of Redlands
Portland State University University of Washington

Here is the link to niche.com. They have a sampling of where students matriculate to for colleges. It is overwhelmingly loaded for OSU and UofO. So why spend 16k a year?

First more than 30% of the kids at Jesuit receive financial assistance. It is more than a school that teaches academics, Jesuit builds character, Jesuit teaches about caring. Jesuit builds character. No one can understand Jesuit unless you walk the halls

Right. We are Jesuit. We are better than you. We know it. You all can't understand because you're not good enough.

That sounds a lot like our public HS. But without the 16k tuition. but you wouldn't understand since you have never been to our school.

It's too bad you take it that way. I certainly don't think I am better than anyone because I can afford Jesuit, but I feel privileged that my daughter has the opportunity to spend 4 years of her life at that school

That's not true I have been in many different schools for sporting events. I can assure you that the Jesuit students treat their school with a lot more respect than others. I was recently in Sunset and was embarrassed that trash was on the floor and students were just walking by

Tell us more about the feeling privileged. That's our favorite part.

That is embarrassing. Hopefully you yelled at them and reminded them that Jesuit students would never do that.

I saw a wrapper on the floor at Jesuit and it made me sick to my stomach

When you say loaded for OSU and UofO do you mean 56 for OSU and 53 for Oregon?

                        Santa Clara 49
                        UCSD 37
                        Gonzaga 32
                        Georgetown 31
                        USC 30

The sample set was 10 schools and totaled 388

Not sure I would consider 56 and 53 overwhelmingly loaded. It represents about 28% of the sample set. Considering that we do live in Oregon and both school named are Pac 12 schools, I would say that 28% is normal.

Getting into a good college is one aspect of a good high school education. The other aspect is how well your high school prepares you for college. The graduation rate for OSU is only about 60%.

I think you are already convinced that private school or at least Jesuit is not the way to go so you are looking into all data points to support your position.

The Jesuit people are going to go in the opposite direction.

Why spend $16K a year? Because it is there money and that is what they choose to do with there money.

Why play club soccer when the statistic show that your child will not play after high school and if they do it will not be for a top college program. I am assuming your kid plays competitive soccer since you are on this thread.

Hate to break this to you but it's Johns Hopkins. That John Hopkins acceptance your daughter got was as valid as her acceptance to Standford. $16k over 4 years, money well spent.

Yes, you are correct. It is Johns Hopkins. Thanks for pointing it out. Johns Hopkins was on the list of where Jesuit students got accepted.

How much are you paying for soccer per year?

Right now? Zero. Top D1 offer however. And free public education where our graduates go to Ivys, Duke, Wake, Stanford (two kids committed to baseball scholarships), and other top schools. Didn't need $16k per year to achieve our goals. And just because I'm sure you've never visited Johns Hopkins, it's a great school located in a rough part of Baltimore. Not horrible, however you don't walk around campus after dark without security nearby. Just down the street from Notre Dame. Not THAT Notre Dame but another one.

Which public HS are you referring to? That is a pretty impressive high school.

Sounds like you no longer have kids in High School? Why are you even on this thread? Your friends tired of hearing you brag about how smart you are or are you just posing?
