    Dominant local ECNL club

With all of the talk about how the talent needs to consolidate to create competitive teams, and now that tryouts are upcoming, it's good to take a look at which club is better positioned to succeed with the movement of players. Players will always prefer to go with winners.

    U14 - FCP
U15 - probably a draw as neither team is really tearing it up. If CU changes coaches then they have a chance, if they keep FM, then this team will not develop.
U16 - FCP is clearly doing better. Could be time for a coaching change at CU.
U17 - FCP, and it's not even close.
U18 - FCP, and it's even a wider gap than at U17, which is pretty wide.

Don't know what's coming in at U14 for either club next year. Better coaching selections, especially by CU, is critical. Actually, across the board CU probably needs to take a hard look at their coaches. Tom isn't doing much with his younger team, FM shouldn't be coaching an ECNL team, they could do worse than Kibbwe, but they could do much better too.

Based upon year 1, FCP is clearly the dominant program and should benefit the most come tryouts.

Seems like with the split there is always going to be some watered down teams. It sure would be nice to have one option.

If I had a 01 or 02 kid I would be talking to the parents of the other top kids (easy place to look would be state pool team, while not everyone is participating a good majority are) and come to a group decision on where to go and try and keep those top kids together.

Rumors are that Tom will coach CU U14s next year, with Garrett taking the FCP U14s.

Of course Tom will coach them. His goal is to be the coach of all of the ECNL teams at CU. Total control. And he did such a stellar job with the U14s this year, it bears to reason that he should coach every team.

Sounds logical. I sure wouldn't stick with one club or the other if all of the good girls are going to the other team. It looks like most are migrating to FCP. I wouldn't go to CU unless they put a good coach in place for the team. Unfortunately, CU continues to not put their best coaches as head coaches for the ECNL teams.

I just spit my coffee all over my computer when you said FCP 16s are doing better. Onyx is #20 in the Champions qualification and FCP 16s may not even qualify for the North American Cup

Maybe CU will have something to say if they actually beat FCP. FCP got out of the gate slow but is much improved. CU is now losing to pretty mediocre teams. Would have been a bit more impressive had CU actually won a game this past weekend rather than losing two and nearly the third (were fortunate to get a tie). FCP didn't lose.

Next game between the two will happen after tryouts. Won't be much of a team left at CU by then.

You actually think that any of this will change with more games?

Wow. The grammar and spelling in this posts proves that wealth (being able to afford ECNL) is not an indication of intelligence. Hope your kid is smarter than you are. All the ECNL games in the world won't get a D1 offer for a player with poor grades.

Why is posts plural? Come on FC when attacking grammar you gotta do better than that.
