When are the Timbers going to say enough is enough and admit that putting the Thorns Academy team in the OYSA league is not a good idea? +27 GD after just 4 games. Really? Come on, Timbers, make it right for those girls. Close down the Academy right now and let the girls go to ECNL teams with a clear conscience before you've wasted an entire year of their youth soccer careers.

but you have to understand that the Thorns Academy is the first of it's kind in the country. After you see the WNT fail to get out of bracket this summer you will see how fast they implement a DA for the womens side.....the US is in it's infancy when it comes to this new model...it wasn't but just a month ago that the heads of US soccer were talking about the changes that are needed. I'm not sure that ECNL will be good enough in accomplishing this :Euro Style of Academy that has Europe miles ahead of us.
If you watched the US play France last weekend you would have seen that we are miles behind Europe....we still play the same style that we did when Mia Hamm played....the game has changed so much since then.....as usual, we are in the 80's and 90's in the soccer world.

4th out of six teams in FWRL, but smacking around OYSA.
A couple of things, padding your scores against crap, still equals crap. Racking big GD on crap will not equal an entry into Surf and just how bad is OYSA?

The ECNL parents with their 18 x $10,000/year = $180,000 team are spending a mint, somehow are still insecure.
Why not support all girls soccer in Oregon. Tearing someone else down doesn't make you any better.
