So how large will the Thorn's GD be after this coming weekend? Playing the bottom 2 teams in the division and, if you've seen either team play, you know they are a far cry from being "Premier" level. I guess if you like to see lots of goals being scored show up at Buckman this weekend...

I have never seen them play and probably never will as I have no dog in the fight and don't go out of my way to watch something so that I can slam the teams on an anonymous thread. I am sure there will be people just like you (or you for that matter) that will be on here posting next Monday.

It's just the opposite to what happened a couple of weeks ago when the local ECNL teams played out at Liberty and THPRD. Losses where everywhere and what was the GD? Something like minus 20. Lots OS development chasing after the players who had the ball.

Anybody who sees what's going on in OYSA GU18 Premier division must see that it was a monumental error on the part of the Timbers to put the Thorns Academy in this league. Say what you want about ECNL but the worst team in ECNL would easily dominate OYSA U18. I hope the Thorns parents are asking for their money back. And if you don't think people are watching this and deciding that ECNL clearly provides better competition then you need to pull your head out of the sand.

Top players in other sports probably could have become top soccer players. Great athletes are great athletes. But as long as there are competing sports, you will never have all of the players in one of the sports.

For the parents who are spending a fortune on ECNL, you are wasting your money if your dd isn't a good athlete. At least you are wasting it if you are thinking that ECNL will turn her into some top soccer player. She can improve her speed, but that doesn't mean she will become fast. She can improve her agility, but that doesn't mean she will have the agility of the top players. She can improve her coordination, but that doesn't mean she will have the amount that the top players have. A top athlete with good work ethics and drive to become better, will leave the other players in the dust.

There's done wisdom in there.

I realize you are just marketing, but I can assure you that the Thorns are here for the long term and are growing.

Wouldn't it be better to spend your time improving your program and your youth feeder programs than trying to market here?

Sheesh Angry Poster, you are on here 24/7 with the same boring, misguided and inaccurate posts. One of the ECNL clubs, since you are predicting a demise, is more likely to go by the wayside as parents realize the huge amounts of money they will spend over there won't be worth it. A lower cost alternative, such as the Thorns, will be the beneficiary of this migration away from ECNL. For players who are not at least D2 capable, ECNL is a waste of money. And there are just not that many of those players in any age group.
