Has there been any talk of bringing in ECNL level coaches?
I think it was necessary in their first year to use what they had in the arsenal but I would think they are looking for quality coaches to coach these elite teams. Looking at every ECNL team it is evident that no one fits this mold.

My dr has two more years of ecnl. We are hoping for an upgrade

Just go to any OYSA club then. I'm sure they have WAY better coaching...

I was wondering the same thing. It's costing us a lot more but were getting the same training as before. These Elite kids need Elite coaching to become great. Why isn't someone doing SOMETHING about this? It's getting a little ridiculous. I know others are upset too. We deserve better.

I wouldn't say its rediculous....it was necessary as they didn't know but only a few months prior to tryouts. My reason for the post was that I'm hoping they are loking for true ECNL level coaches because really the training is the most important. My dd is getting the same training as before. I would also question the current coaches game management. I would guess that most of the coaches get out coached

Which club?

They are only charging a few hundred dollars more for the entire year of training with extra practices thrown in. How much more above the $2000 (FCP) - $2250 (CU) in current training fess are you willing to pay? To get a "Good" coach to move from somewhere else to this backwoods dump that is Oregon soccer, you are going to need to poiny up some moola.

So how much more and who would you suggest?

CU is 2000 U15-U18. Only U14 is 2250.

Pretty typical. FCP coaches are notorious for recruiting>development..when they are even around. Probably 1-2 actual good coaches there and it isn't the college coaches.

OSSA and THUSC?......Did they even have good coaches to begin with?

They said ECNL in oregon would make top teams....NOt true. They are already losing to B and C teams from Washington even without doing their watered down league of Idaho and Utah broke teams.

They said you would get developed....Not true considering many don't even play, the team is bad so you spend much of your time chasing and sitting the bench.

They said you would get exposure...well i'd hope so considering you are paying your kids college tuition to get exposure yet those coaches aren't going to come and watch you, they are going to actually go an watch the GOOD teams with GOOD players.

Too bad they didn't do poorly in FWRL and were not eligible for any big tourny's. That would be something to hang their hat on for sure.

I saw on here recently only two girls made the ODP all star team, both from FCP. I wonder where those two were recruited from?

It's too late for this season, but parents better be asking a lot of questions in the off season. If next year is the same as this year, ECNL will be done here.
