I thought club soccer shuts down during HS. If your any kind of athlete playing HS with your buddies its not going to make a bit of difference, your still getting training and if your that serious your still seeing your private trainer. Let your kid be a kid .

My daughter does care and she will play college. But she loves having people come watch her play and getting to play with her school friends. Club is trying to prevent her from playing HS next year but she's going to play anyway with our blessing.

Saying that someone who wants to have fun and play in front of a crowd doesn't care is downright wrong. This isn't a job.

Play just club. Play just HS, play both. Quit soccer for another sport. It's up to the players. No big deal.

Club C team, HS, and rec = having fun.

            Club A team = a job.

That's not true. Kids that have fun and want to play all the time 98% of the time become better players.

There are the rare kids that get pushed by their parents to make it a job or the really rare super serious kid that makes it a job, and then become successful. But the kids that become successful top tier players are mostly kids who love the sport.

It has nothing to do with being pushed or loving to play. I've seen both ends of it and regardless of what you say, I'm telling you that being on a C team is "fun" being on an A team is "work". The two don't compare. It doesn't mean that your player doesn't enjoy playing, all I'm saying is C team is alot more relaxed than A team.

It is all about finding the right fit for the kid. It is good to have choices, unfortunately there are too many conflicting interests and politics going on right now.

So true. To some extent it is the kids who will ultimately decide. I have seen many drop out. I have seen even more who lived and breathed soccer and went to D3 colleges to play. I have seen kids who went on to play D1 take a year off. I have seen kids forego high school soccer altogether and others who played multiple sports in high school. It isn't a one size fits all.

US loses 0-2 to France. Other countries catching/caught up to USWNT. USYS implement the switch to calendar birth year, and other proposed changes for boys & girls across the board. Let's join Europe & the rest of world or get left behind! Time is wasting!

Won't solve the problem above. Playing good soccer and not long balls to fast forwards will solve the problem.

That too! They do seem to play a lot better when Alex is hurt...

Haven't heard of anybody other than the boys side of Puget Sound Premier League planning to change this year. Lots of rumors floating around about spring 2016 but...
