Is the training worth the extra $800 per year. I would say hands down no. It is the same coaches & from what I am seeing it's still the top in Oregon but it isn't $800 additional worthy. As for travel the cost for teams who have always traveled from these clubs is approx. the same as pre-ECNL.

As for ID camps it's the best way to build a relationship with a college coach you are considering as one of your top college choices. You get to show them who you are as a player & who you are in between the drills. No matter how good you are an ID camp is a good idea. It gives you a chance to test out the coach a bit & see if you really like the program.

There isn't a comparison between TA & ECNL. The TA clubs are what they have always been. There are good players over at the Thorns Academy but let's be honest some if the girls who were our "top" ODP girls this year would never have been considered top if the true best players in Oregon were involved. That being said there is a place for everyone & if the kids are happy & they are getting something out of it then stay where you think you belong. Let's just stop trying to claim mine is better than yours.

Reality is reality, no matter how much anyone wants to claim otherwise.
Agreed. Except, someone has to pay for the extra days of training. So is the $800 worth it? Yes.

Same practice schedule as we had pre-ECNL. So no not worth $800.

Maybe at CU. Much more intense schedule at FCP.

That seems really fair and honest and mature.
Mature? You're in the wrong dark corner of the internet.

Talking about young kids playing soccer. Yep very dark corner.

So $10,000 a year isn't enough to get that coveted scholarship, but must spend another grand or two traveling to ID camps. I thought that ECNL was the magic wand, I guess not. You'd think for $10,000 that's all you would need, but apparently college ID camps are needed as well. Did Tom and Fraser cover this during the presentation?

No, but they did say that the Thorns Academy wouldn't win much of anything. And they were right.

So $10,000 and still have to go spend $2,000 more to go to ID camps. Those $12,000 estimates were correct all along. You stooges couldn't accept the truth, but now it's slapping you in the face. Better to save money for the hookers during the road trips.

They already held the ID camp. It was called Thorns Academy tryouts. They ID'd the worst players and gave them Thorns jerseys. And this weekend's results proved it.

Come on be nice. In know the ECNL experience has been really disappointing but you don't have to be mean about it!

                        Why beat up on ECNL?

Exactly. The Timbers Alliance and the Thorns Academy are the ones that made all the big promises and haven't delivered squat. Time to pull the plug on that program.

It's here to stay. Sorry if that disappoints you.

Not disappointed at all. The mediocre Timbers girls need somewhere to play.

I bet your kid is a piece of work if they are anything like you. Shameful.
