Rumor has it that the Pacific U11 team is moving most of its best players to FC in the spring. That would be very good for FC and very bad for THUSC. I would personally like to see THUSC and Pacific combine at U11 and make a run at the top WA teams.

Look at the age groups.. I'd be careful not to say certain clubs are bootball etc when those kids are begged to leave their clubs and make fcp actually viable at an age group.

Recruiter coaches fcp vs development coaches thusc.
All clubs start with roughly the same talent potential at the youngest ages, primarily due to geography. All develop their kids, at varying rates and with varying results. Each clubs best talent quickly separates itself from the lesser talents, even though they are all receiving the same training. At some point these top kids and their parents make a conscious decision to move to a different club, either in search of better training, or seeking more wins. The fact that many of these players move to FCP or THUSC, and not to other clubs must be because they are looking for better training because we all know that those clubs rarely win a lot of games at the younger ages. So these talented players move, forcing the less talented at the destination clubs to the B teams. I dont think anybody is left scratching their heads, as you say, except maybe those parents who harbor an unrealistic belief in their kids talent. For those, not much can be done but to pity them.

3rd Div at U11 will be a tough hole to dig out of, I don't see too many families of strong players moving over to FCP to join 3rd Div soccer. Probably won't get much better until U14 when girls come over for ECNL.

You'd be surprised. They were in 1st division, the one below Premier. There just happened to be so many teams that they split the division into two halves. And people don't move their kids to FCP because FC wins a lot at U10/11, they move them because the training and coaching is superior to what they can get at their "starter" club.

Not very bad for THUSC. Pacific and THUSC already play OPL together now. 1 and 2 respectively in Premier. I guarantee you if Pacific did decide to go to FCP its the smarter move given the alternative at THUSC is that at U14 they will combine the best of Southside, Lake O, WUSC. Why go to THUSC and then get disassembled as a team when you can go to FCP and stay whole through high school with most of the Pacific kids. They are good but they are not good enough to outshine the top talent of those 4 clubs combined. So would be a smart move not a scary move for THUSC.

Maybe so, but to say that 10 year olds moving from one club to the other is going to have an effect on another club or any club at that matter is ridiculous.

I hear that WST just got an influx of U9 players from some super duper club somewhere on the eastside. Look out, West Side is going to rock in about 6 years.

There is no "super duper" club on the Eastside...

Rumor has it that FCP is going to invest in a ferry crossing right at Sauvie Island so that they can pipeline all the Vancouver kids straight onto Corn Pass Rd and avoid the I5 crossing. If they get approval, it could be the end for Vancouver soccer.

A bridge over Sauvie would be better (say Salmon Creek to Hwy 30) but I'll take a high-speed ferry :)

Combining them has worked so well for their U14 ECNL team.

Rumor has it Vancouver soccer just bought a mini sub that will patrol said waters menacingly, flying the Sounders flag.

Might as well waste some more money on the sub. There's more water and mud at Harmony than there is turf or dry ground anyway...
