I am curious those who have been around oregon soccer for a while can anyone tell me how many Oregon girls have had serious looks by US soccer? And what club were those girls with at the time?

I don't know about players. But so far this season I've gotten a couple of serious looks from some hot soccer moms. To me, that's way more important. Good thing their soccer husbands didn't see them.Comment

I'm not sure about the past but if you listen to U11-U13g parents, their daughters are all definitely being recruited to D1 schools & many have a good shot at making the USWNT. All those soccer hours and private trainings for Suzy Star will pan out just you wait and see.Comment

I am not sure what serious looks are. My DD attended US Soccer Training Center 2 times but nothing ever came of it for any of the girls we knew including Anastasia who was already pegged for the Russian NT by that time. My observation is that it was sporadic and I was never sure of what the point was. On the other hand it is actually free so why not!! If you get an invite I think it is worth going.Comment

You have your facts entirely incorrect. There has been a sporadic nature to the US Training Center activity. This is not a new concept although they may have put a new twist on it. Just about every D1 athlete that has come out of the PDX area in the past two years (Anastasia included) have participated n US Soccer Training Center. The op is asking because the 03/04 group of US training center sessions seem to be giving preferential treatment to fcp and thusc kids and the op is curious if this trend will continue as the girls get older.
And what is the point of those 03/04 training center sessions? Is there a team that will be formed from those girls that will play other states teams?Comment

The THUSC and FCP programs are more technically driven at the younger ages, while many other clubs at this age group are more tactically trained.
Tactics are great for the overall team benefit, but technical skills are more for the individual player.
Maybe they are looking for more technically skilled players.Comment
