Thank you Governor Kitzhaber for your biased view of the state of Oregon D1 women's soccer. Sheesh, what a worthless post.

Biased viewpoint based on knowledge and experience with D-1 soccer, something you clearly don't have. Have you noticed, the majority of voters, you do vote don't you, prefer our governor to your person of interest. Try a bit of education and then come back with facts rather than garbage.

The UO and OSU are big time PAC-12 programs. Portland State has shown improvement, but their program and league is not top drawer. At UO, with Tara gone, the new coach is improving the program. OSU has done well under Linus with a drop off in 2013 and a poor showing currently with hardly any experienced veterans. He will do better.

We don't know the age of the young lady looking at these programs. If she is a sophomore or younger, all three programs will probably be vastly different than they are today. Both UO and OSU will be better next year as their young rosters mature.

Now, for reality. Damn few players from Oregon will make either the UO or OSU roster. It stuns me how little posters know about college soccer programs. You may be the top one or two player on your club team. Unfortunately, you may be number 23 out of a 26-30 player PAC-12 roster and never travel. And that's if you make the roster.

Go visit colleges, see what the academic fit is, and then, find out about the soccer program. You'll find out if they want you or not reasonably soon.

I just hopped into this thread. Did I miss something? This response seems pretty bent out of shape and I can't find the source of it. This is a perfect example of how this particular blog site could be improved with a moderator. I am amazed that people are unable to blog without so much anger. If there is something that was specifically wrong with a post then address it with facts. Furthermore, for those that knock Gresham on here, there are three from Gresham/Sandy on UO whereby there is ONE from Portland. Two from Bend, one from Springfield and one from Ashland (presumably played in Medford, yet all of those quips from people who mock going to Medford).

2. "Unfortunately, you may be number 23 out of a 26-30 player PAC-12 roster and never travel." Well, the numbers above would say you are full of BS since they aren't leaving 8 or 9 players home when they travel.

3. "Both UO and OSU will be better next year as their young rosters mature." Complete conjecture. UO finished dead last in 2013 in the Pac 12. OSU had a complete blowup last spring and is off to a winless start this year. OSU was picked to finish dead last in the Pac 12, UO 10th. Linus is on the hot seat over the blowup, the results from last year and the poor start this year. Kat has got to finish higher than 10th either this year or next or will be on the hot seat. If you aren't aware of this, you aren't in the know regarding Oregon soccer.

Last year was particularly disappointing. And his start this year is terrible. If he misses the playoffs this year, next year will be the make or break year for him.
