Encl won't last more than two years in Oregon. It will be expensive and frustrating but that because only rich kids can do it.

There will be just as good of opportunities at 1/4th the cost.

There are always opportunities at 1/4 the cost. OYSA Premier Rec+ is one of them. Low cost, minimal opportunities.

No there won't be. There will be lesser opportunities that still require traveling. If the Timbers jumped on board and helped with sponsorship, traveling costs would come down, it's not like M.P. needs the money, but they are run by unpaid/underpaid interns so fat chance.

My dd plays U14 and you are telling me that putting an unproven grant's pass team into the premier division isn't the same thing as putting some 'B' teams in premier in the OPL?
                C'mon, get real buddy.
First off let's be clear, I am not your "buddy"...where you get it wrong is you are comparing teams in a league being misaligned (OYSA) to B teams being forced into an NPL tournament or NWCL, because there are no other teams above them.

Development is the name of the game...it is good to challenge yourself with competition however if the competition is so much better (as an OPL B or C team would face playing Washington Premier or Seattle United) it becomes counter productive. Even worse when your league pushes you into it because they have no one else to represent them.

I saw plenty OPL C & B teams beat up on OYSA B & C teams this summer, so I don't know where you are coming off on this development question. It would seem to me that OPL B & C teams are being developed far better than OYSA B & C teams.

Are you really arguing about who has the better B and C teams?

It's a good barometer for who develops. If all your depending on is your A team in a club than your club is much weaker and has less development than the club with solid A, B, and C teams.

Those B teams being thrown to the wolves as you put it will catch up in a year, that allows you to pool even stronger players, OYSA teams will be left in the dust.

I saw this to and in talking to the parents of the games my kids were in they pulled down kids from higher teams. (so not really B or C teams after all.)

Actually those were players that were switching clubs late in the season. I know of two teams that had this happen. They eventually went off to A teams after tryouts. But the interesting thing is the clubs they were switching from were OYSA clubs.

So how many A team players did the OPL teams add to their B and C teams…just so they could look good...
