i don't see this as 100% true. Playing against players of similar skill / athletic ability will allow players to actually play and not just panic and kick the ball away or lose all 1 v 1 battles.

if you have a good coach who teach the players how to actually play and not just hoping the better players rub off on the poor ones you just need motivated players to train with / against to get better.

sure it won't be as pretty or quick as the better players but with the similar level of play the kids have a better chance of execution. plus they won't chase the game all day, meaning they will have more opportunities to be in possession of ball and trying to do what has been asked of them.

The difficult part, and it doesn't get any easier in with smaller split leagues, is to properly place teams so that they are pushed in games but not overwhelmed.

So if you have a gold/premier/npl level A team and a bronze level B team how do you handle that?

Yes practice with the A team might help the B team players but it also hinders the A players development.

That is another struggle as most clubs are in that exact position of having a wide gap between their "A" and "B" teams. Primary cause for this is that there are too many clubs and therefore too many "A" teams. But beyond that, you have to look for clubs that have "A" and "B" teams that are only 1 division apart, 2 at the very most but only in a consolidated league.

So my child does not play for this club, but I believe it is crossfire oregon, most likely u14 boys a and b teams.

Westside Timbers, that coach is no longer with our team and is only coaching at the high school ages at the club now. Was truly a great experience.
