Not even close. Coaching is mostly irrelevant in high school. It's the players coming in that make the program. LO soccer club is way overrated in terms of producing and cultivating talent.

Coaching is the same for club and hs in LO, has been for 25yrs. I hear he heavily favors his club players over others, several seniors that had played varsity for 2 plus years, didn't even tryout last year because of it.

I seem to remember a parent from Lakeridge telling me a few years ago that their HS team is picked and players play based on seniority. The juniors and seniors made varsity and played regardless if they were the best players on the team. Maybe it was LO. Sorry if my facts are wrong, but I do remember them saying it was based on seniority not actual merit.

It is based on seniority and its too bad for the players. It doesn't matter if they play club soccer either. Other schools are passing them by with this approach.

lol, that's a recipe for disaster. Choose the best players..always. otherwise why have tryouts??? unless of course you live in Lake O, and are satisfied with first round exit from the playoffs.
