You clearly don't watch the USWNT much. Or if you do, you simply don't understand what you are watching. Yes, they occasionally play direct, but they mainly play a pressuring, uptempo style with excellent BUILDUP to scoring opportunities.

Are they as technically skilled as a Japan? No. But they use their strengths (size, speed, strength) effectively, and their style is definitely NOT bootball. I would equate the USWNT's style to the women's version of a Real Madrid, whereas the Japanese style is more of a women's version of a Barcelona. Both styles can be very effective, if applied effectively.

What you say is partially correct. But don't kid yourself. The US women win with size, speed, and athleticism.... followed then by skill. Think about it. I'm right. That's why the men finally seem to be in the thick of it. We have some damn good athletes on that team.

Sure wish the US had maitained a little more possession yesterday. Specifically in the last minute or so.

Yup, 100% true. Dammit!!!! There is a time to possess, a time to play direct, and a time to boot the the damn ball. Aaaaaaaaaaargh! But it's ok. This is first World Cup where it doesn't feel like we are completely outclassed. Teams like Mexico and Costa Rica look very good too and we know we can hang with them, even beat them! Go USA!!!
