When you and the balance of the coaching community know that there is a better coach in your club but you assign yourself rather than him what would you call it?

I've not seen any evidence that FM has done anything of note with any team. Gaff has demonstrated that. Even RR has demonstrated that he can take a team and continue to make them better as he did with his SS team that became the CO U15 team. They were like division 2 at U11 and were one of the better teams in division 1 by the time they were U14. I don't believe that the other CU coaches that were chosen were the best choices. I think the CU ECNL teams will suffer because of those choices.

It was a typo. No need to be rude.

It's a way for him to make more $ on top of his salary.

            Really?

From what I can gather about the level of youth coaching in Oregon.

Being chosen as a ECNL coach for either FC PDX or Crossfire/United isn't really a high level coaching job or status position. There isn't a long list of highly qualified national level youth coaches asking for these coaching gigs..just the normal local club flunkies who need to make enough money off coaching youth soccer to earn a living..no special credential or record of achievement is necessary.

If someone got 'passed' over for this type of job it's hardly worth the worry...they should feel blessed they weren't asked.

Taking pigs to slaughter is a horrible degrading job.

Coaching at a D1 university isn't considered "qualified" to coach ECNL???

Dude the try outs have basically concluded. We get it, you are a coach or bitter parent with a DD in the OYSA / timbers patch club. You don't have to be an A-hole anymore. Worry about your DD getting some playing time on that Eastside B team of hers.

Really? It's fine to coach them when they are 18 but not good enough when they are 16? Give me a break!

                          News flash!!!

Not one person from the United States of America applied for any of the ECNL coaching positions at either Crossfire United or FC Portland.

THIS IS A FACT, not a REVELATION.

The same tired bland club coaches who have done nothing to improve the game in Oregon for Girls Soccer at these clubs will continue to do nothing with the new and improved moniker ECNL.

                          THUSC is still THUSC.

FC Portland is still FC Portland.

                          &

Crossfire United is still Southside/LOSC & WUSC.

At least in the Timbers DA they hire outside the flunkies in the PDX area..

And all of those clubs have much better coaching than your TA club. There was no need to "hire outside", the staff and players were already there. The only thing that changed is that their teams now play in a much higher level league. And suddenly everybody else starts complaining that it's "not fair". BooHoo!
