I didn't feel bad for them as this is competitive soccer, but I did think that they should have known that up front that it was a possibility to not play. And to answer the question, I do think that there are a lot of naive parents out there who are on teams where they are guaranteed to play every game and get 30-50% time. I hope that they know what they are signing up for.
That's harsh, spending that much money and not getting to play. Ouch.

The fact that you can't process that logically only indicates why you have NOT been able to follow the conversation.

Youth soccer should not be a profit making enterprise but a development process. Your beloved Timbers have YET to demonstrate that they have any serious interest in advancing girls youth soccer other than TAKING money from the system to maintain the status quo.

If they were serious about moving the ball down the field for the girls they would not be sitting mum on the sidelines trying to sabotage the ECNL....but hey you probably voted for the 1%er Romney too!

None of those coaches make 100k. This has already been proven on this sure. You're just posting misleading information.

Your right and you confirm my statement. The previous poster said it should NOT be a profit center, but rather development. Then why should the DOC (director of coaching), not the coach make $100k/yr ? The coach is who is developing the players, but makes squat compared to the DOC who does nothing to develop the players.

The difference between what ECNL does with their revenue and what MP does with the Timber Revenue can bee seen in over 9,000 ECNL games each year!

ECNL is structured and run for the benefit of the GIRLS. the timbers on the other hand well if I have to splain that to you you are HOPLESS

and yours will be that #19-24 player on the ECNL team picking splinters from her behind while you shell out $8,000 for her to do it and another $2k for you to come watch her do it.

So if an organization is structured to provide opportunity and access for the DEVELOPMENT of female youth soccer and the coach makes a market level wage you think it is a "profit" making enterprise. OMG

On the other hand when the FOR PROFIT enterprise not only does not contribute to girls soccer but TAKES money from the system you give them a free pass YOU are too DENSE to understand the argument.

Vs the ECNL clubs who are frantically kicking the ball out of bounds. Certainly at our age group anyway.
