Has anyone ever gotten something useful off this site? If so, what? Or do you really only use it as a form of entertainment?

Not really. Mostly it's a form of therapy. -
I just scanned the Region 4 of TS and there was no one on any of the sites, except 1 viewing the AZ threads and 27 viewing the Oregon threads. The same 27 that post on their own comments, lie, brag or are just plain subversive on here.
In short it's a few busy bodies arguing with each other and commenting on their own posts.Comment

The site can be good. You hear rumors of things from this site and usually has some real info within the rumor. Soccer scene so full of politics it's a good place go see if other clubs having same issues. There are some people who cause this forum to seem bad but, it does hold helpful info regarding what's going on in clubs.Comment

Sometimes
Occasionally one can find some information. I take most everything posted as probably being biased and misinformed. It does, however, give a general direction on topics if you read between the lines. Most relevant information on a particular thread occurs initially, with trolls and blowhards coming later. Few posts give verifiable facts, just opinions. I admit, some threads are highly entertaining in a train-wreck sort of way.Comment

If you frequent it enough, you can see through the trolling, misdirection and out right lies.
But it's a lot of work for a solid nugget of information. You can tell which teams or clubs are doing well as they tend to be the target of the trolling. No one talks smack about lesser teams or clubs, it's almost like it would be a cruel thing to do.Comment

I use it just to see how important ECNL is to our welfare as a country. I learn every day that it can make mere mortals leap tall buildings in a single bound. How it elevates mediocre soccer players into division 1 players. It is all that will cure what ails Oregon soccer. Without TS, we would never know these things.Comment

Then a couple oddballs found they could troll here and get soccer parents to respond to them.
Then the OYSA/OPL split really stirred the pot.
by the time the topic of ECNL came up the trolling and flaming had gotten out of hand.
TS is mostly a spam blog now. Hopefully it will turn around.
Maybe removing anonymous posting will help.Comment
