They've been doing that for 6+ months. But I get it. I wouldn't want to lend them any money either...

      1. zero communication from management to the club at-large regarding the status of the fields.
      2. "underwriting" - ok, we will wait. based on history, I'm sure the backup plan is to practice for 60 minutes in Carson, WA at 8pm during school nights.
      3. anyone steering this ship?

Are you actually in the club? If you are, you would have known that there was an informative presentation by management on the 'status of the fields' (among other things) at the Annual members meeting a few weeks back. Open for all members to attend, communicated throughout. Questions were welcome, members were encouraged to attend.

You are clearly not in the club or, if you are in the club, maybe you should consider attending the well publicized meeting.

Well it sounds like you were there, can you give us the update they gave then?

This is a serious question, so all of those who want to now say jokes about it, just ignore this.

You must be in management or one of the board members. It's clear that hosting a meeting to communicate a lack of progress is a useless waste of time. But I wish you the best with yoru board seat. I'm sure your contributions will help us install a new sprinkler head in the middle of field 7. BTW...was this the same meeting where they ushered in the new boad members without putting the vote out to the club?

Absolutely correct. The lower division teams will get to watch their "premiere" level teams enjoy the field turf.

Bingo! You finally figured out the problem.

When DH was at the helm, AGM, as well as monthly team commissioner meetings, we're open to all members.

And who was leading the "Please bail us out, VUSA!" charge-- your boy chester.

starting to look a little like an Obama Hope and Change deal....

Another classic example of the weak orginization pulliing down the strong.

Omg you couldn't be a bigger dip****. It has reached near shocking levels of complete stupidity on this board. So many things wrong with your post, you for certain, have a screw loose. Focus on fixing yourself before you offer advice to others. I'm sure you get that a lot.

Too bad the guy was right about everything he said. Hughes, for all his faults, actually cared and had some vision for the club's future. The most recent crop of board members couldn't organized a drunken bash in a liquor store...

Well that may be the one thing they can do correctly. I think you need a better analogy. :)

Sad, just very sad. Let me rephrase that, "anyone expecting something different than a closed, prescripted meeting should be sad." Because expecting change from someone or something incapable of change is a reflection on your inability to come to grips with reality.
