Agree but that is not the point
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostYour biggest enemy moving forward are not the TA affiliated teams, it is your sister ECNL club. Because of your geographic proximity to each other you will be constantly fighting over the same pool of players. This choice had nothing to do with the TA teams or the Timbers. It was the choice of your very own clubs.
1 team would have enjoyed consistent success. But, 2 teams located right on top of one another in a relatively small population base was not a particularly wise decision. You are now each other's biggest competition for a fairly small available resource of players who will be interested in that program.
The Timbers may be greedy, but so are the new ECNL host clubs. That is the fact, Jack!
Da P O I N T is that we should not tolerate LIARS. The point is that the TA should have taken a public stance. The point is the OYSA should have taken a public stance. The point is that youth sport should not accept this attitude within any of it's organization or from the parents. We have codes of parent conduct at games so why not for between clubs and organizations. Or should we just not have any rules?
Big difference between trash talking and intentional efforts to damage the other entity...big difference.

In FACT U14,15 & 18 are going to be $6-6,500. The tryouts just held we for U14 so we have to ask how many did the disinformation scare away when top club and ODP participants ALREADY spend this much?
U 16 & 17 are going to be $8-500. Which AGAIN is not the $10,000 figure the anti-ECNL crowd puts in every post.
The bottom line is both ECNL clubs have a lot of marketing to do to get the TRUTH out...BUT that does not excuse the LIARS fro their behavior.
I am thinking this whole thread is a ruse by the anti-ecnl crowd. It's trying to reflect negatively on the ECNL clubs.

Even when confronted with the actual DIFFERENTIAL cost of $10-12,000 for the entire five years they persisted using the $10,000 per year EVERY year claims. Now do I seriously think they scared away more than one or two U14 parents with their BS? No.
But if they are associated with the TA in any way they should be held accountable for their campaign of lies. And that is ALL I'm trying to say. Period end of rant.

You have a good point. But if you package it wrong, you will just get a defensive response and snarky responses.

It's not perfectly clear as it's written, I guess. I think it is very reasonable to assume that there might be a few extra costs coming from somewhere, whether that is gas to airport, or whatever. So 8-10k seems fairly accurate. And rarely have I seen 10k used almost exclusively, as you suggest. Heck, even an entire thread was called '8k-10k' in costs. Although I agree that TS has quite a bit of undermining and exaggerations, based on what I think you are saying, it is quite over the top to call us all liars. In fact, it's a lie. You should be punished.

Coaches from both sides have made lies and accusations. Are we asking for ALL parties to be punished? or just the ones that we don't like?
