There were well over 30 at the THUSC tryout.

FC Portland's tryouts looked dissapointing. There were less than 20.

I was there and I counted 28 active participants. There were 2-3 girls who did not participate which may have pushed the total number to 31. The irony for me is that my daughter really wanted to tryout but I was not ever thinking she would make it. But, after last night I am now thinking she may be right on bubble.

So is this about the turnout that was expected? If for one team, it seems like good numbers. I wasn't sure however for all of those parents who use elite in every sentence, showing up for a tryout maybe isn't there thing...were there some missing who will expect a private tryout with the coach...just because they are THAT good.

Look, my daughter was there and she will likely make it. But, that was nothing close to an all-star level collection of talent. It was pretty much a THUSC tryout with a couple of LO girls and a few Willamette United girls sprinkled in.

Yeah, I know. That's the dang irony. I go from thinking there is no way she is making this "elite" team to now facing her being a bubble player and spending twice as much just so she can practice with a team that will not be a whole lot better than her current club team.

Well, at least based on last night's turnout. Who knows, maybe the real big guns show up tonight and save me from this. But, I am not feeling so great about it right now.
