    Not what you said

I think that's part of the problem with you ECNL 'know it alls'. You come across as arrogant pric*s. Really not the kind of people I want to hang around on the sidelines. Bleh
You said that the coaches on the sideline of an ODP regional tourney was equal to a ECNL showcase.

Additionally, you think an current ODP teams could win at Surf. How could that happen when the best of the best are playing year round on their ECNL teams and the best of the rest are playing a couple of times a year on their ODP teams. Not Gonna Happen!

Yes the Orygun entry will have a few years of growing pains but there will be select years that do compete just like other clubs have stronger years than others. l

That was someone else who said that, but I'm not sure they were wrong. The list of coaches at ODP Regional Championships was quite long. Not sure anyone should take your word for it. I imagine there are some ECNL tourneys with more, some with less.

There are kids that went to Regional Tourney that also play ECNL. So it's not best of the rest at all.

ODP outside of Cal South is a joke. When was the last time OR ODP won a Regional Championship title or two? When was the last time an OR team went to ODP Nationals?

and you think somehow ECNL Oregon is going to be better? ok, that makes sense particularly since now the talent is spread even further than before. great point.

People in OR bleat on about ODP like it is a good program. When have they ever won anything?

This has nothing to do with ECNL. To address your point about talent - when was the last time ODP on the girls side produced a top team that competed against the best? The '96 girls maybe who got to a Regional final several years ago. One of the few times they consolidated the best talent on one team.

2000g this year was a solid team. Would have made the finals if calsouth wasnt in our bracket and played Calsouth tough.

The point is that soccer is evolving. USYS has been stuck in the same old model and no longer meets the modern demands of youth soccer.

The truth is that all 50 states participate in the USYS national championship. However the best teams in all 50 states don't participate.

Even the boys national championship isn't a real championship since the top boy players play in the DA. It is second rate at best.

So winning your way there or not, it is second rate at best.

boys did pretty well in AZ, although I guess that is irrelevant. I like to add irrelevant conversation to these boards.

                      I am Awesome as well.

Whoa there, slow down skippy. US Club didn't reinvent club soccer, they just repackaged it, charged more for it and marketed it. It's still the same thing as OYSA. If ECNL was a different format, with more stringent demands on coaches and different training techniques and and more proven format for development, I would say US Club is evolving. Instead, they convinced a number of clubs to move, told them they will take only certain clubs and that those clubs are to market this league as one where all of the top players should play. And then they charged a bunch for it. Is the coaching different? Are the techniques different? Are the requirements on coaching higher? Is this delivering better players? No, all they did was convince the top players to aggregate, to pay more money, and to fly around the country to play each other. Sure, that's great, but all US Club really did was evolve youth soccer marketing. Everything else is the same.
